Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

Successful Y>J upgrade at T-60 on QF73 SYD-SFO as a WP

Only booked it 2 days ago. I imagine being a mid week flight helped. Looks like there are still 17 vacant seats.
And success on the return Y>J upgrade at T-27 on QF94 LAX-MEL on an A380. Looking quite busy with only 3 seats left.

Successful on QF12 tomorrow from Y to P.. the fare I originally paid for! Silver.
Not to be pedantic, but I think you mean I to P … and the fare you originally paid for in the other thread was A not P. :p

T-23 hours and crickets so far for a Y to J request for a Gold on QF128 tomorrow evening - dammit!

Not sure how that will help if J is full.
whole plane was chockers - zero sleep on the entire flight. Was ready to move from chockers to choking people by the time we were crossing Indonesia, and then ATC decided to extend the misery by putting us in holding pattern for 20 minutes somewhere north of Sydney so I missed the connecting flight that I had booked to Melbourne.

Welcome back to Melbourne!!

Booked the 773 MEL PER yesterday for today around 0900. Applied for the upgrade and it came through confirmed within an hour.

Decent service. But the bloody 737 J seat is what it is and no telly in the seat back.

Does not particularly bother me, however one would think they could at least organise this on the long flights.

A330 or B787 to Perth... or I'll fly a different day 🤣 pretty much non negotiable in my mind, when chasing an upgrade

My next several flights to/from MEL and SYD are on both those aircraft. I love using the Sydney F lounge on what is basically a domestic flight! However, sometimes timing allows no option, especially on weekends, so the dreaded 737 has to be endured.

Yea well I have to go when I have to go.

I was lucky enough to organise the 787 on the reciprocal a fortnight ago.

From row of premium and pretty much received a J service.
