Qantas Wine latest offering

My 3 case purchase was ordered Tuesday (4th) and advised via email on Wed 5th at 4.42pm it was dispatched.

Checked the tracking link just now, as I thought that after 48 hours it would be getting close.

Apparently not :o :(

Maybe the courier has pulled over to the side of the road and are sampling my bottles...

Indeed. Got my complimentary yearly epiqure renewal last week and ordered $440 of the clearance wines over the weekend. Sadly, no mysterious 'bonus' points arrived (and haven't received the 3000 bonus points yet). A word of caution to others that the surprise bonus points enjoyed by princess Fiona and a couple of other 'renewal' epiqure members appears to have been nipped in the bud some point on Monday :(

Its Australia Post, isn't it? I've found their 'tracking' not to be worth remotely relying on - absolute rubbish. I've had a whinge about theme here I think twice before, and have written to Epiqure telling them that AP is dragging down their brand.

Don't try to contact AP to see where the consignment is. They'll tell you that that info is 'private' to them and the sender! I once got 1 carton out of 2 on same consignment note delivered and AP refused to help me find the missing one. Apparently the 1 delivered carton still gave me absolutely no rights to find out where the missing other one was! (They never found it - Epiqure replaced it.)

The problem is many of us hate couriers, as if you're not there, it's a nightmare to retrieve your order.

I don't even worry with AP - just wait for the card then go to the parcel centre late at night and pick up.

It's 2 days from Mel to most cities so if you get the notification on Monday it should arrive Wednesday (as an example).

For what it's worth their tracking was 100% accurate for me. Manifest notification, pick up, Sunshine parcel centre, Sydney local parcel centre, with driver, returning to parcel centre, ready for collection at parcel centre all present.

Aus post dont provide tracking details in transit, only pickup and delivery depot info, once it hits that depot you get a lot if info.

Yeah, sorry, that's what I meant. Carton 2 of 2 on same con note/AP article ID 'tracked' to delivery depot, with intermediate history, but not actually there! And like I mentioned, really irritating thing is that they tell you to naff off when you try to get them to find the missing one, saying that's 'private'. Another line: "Sender is a AP client, and they will have insurance." So Epiqure wears the cost of AP's losing the thing, with those costs inevitably passed onto customers.

Made a complaint to AP (actual recent exchange, based on noted taken):

AP: "Thanks, we'll pass that feedback on'.
Me: "No, it wasn't feedback, it was a complaint. Please register it as such."
AP: "Yes, we've registered that feeback."
Me: "Its not feedback, its a complaint. Shouldn't you give me a complaint reference number?"
AP. "Oh. Yes, its XXYYYYY. But you won't get a call back."
Me: "That's up to AP, whether they care about a customer's complaint is up to them."
AP "We can't give you a call back on this one"
Me: "AP CAN give me a call back, if they choose. Its just that they won't. That's right, isn't it?"
AP: "Well, yes. But you acknowledge that we won't call you back?
Me" " I acknowledge no such thing. I'm requesting a call back. Again, whether AP follows up complaints is up to AP."

etc.

Yeah, I have major issues with AP

Concur - they are very good at fixing errors as a few of use found out with free wine from the Christmas Dozen thanks to a sub we did not approve.

Indeed. In all my experiences with the epiqure customer services re: resolution of issues they are always friendly, professional and helpful. They also are quick to accept responsibility and find solution. Unlike a lot of places who when you question things become suspicious and put the onus on the customer. This is what good customer service is about, and it is a great business model (take note Qantas before going ahead with any 'enhancements'). They have made a lot more money out of me with this service standard than if they had of just matched the competition.

Not sure if it is good form or not to post tasting notes, but given a few of us probably have purchases the 2008 John Duval Plexus, I thought I'd give me impressions.

Decanted for a little over three hours and needed it. Really opened up and suspect an even longer decant could be in order.

Nose of black currants, cherry, fennel, dark chocolate with a hint of mint, vanilla and cloves.

On the palate its quite weight, but balanced. Smooth tannins with lots of fruit and balanced acid. Excellent length.

This should go another decade at least.

Rate 91/100.

Thanks. I think Epiqure also have a spot to add comments/notes against the wine.

Epiqure seems to be the scheme that keeps giving pleasant surprises. Yesterday I got a another year's membership ...

This evening, I ordered abt $400 worth under the current offer - righto, some OK plonk at good price and earns.. lets see .. abt 4,200 points including bonus.

Got the invoice; 9,200 points, with 3,000 bonus to come. 30 points per $ !

Its obviously some bonus threshold but I was pretty sure I'd exhausted those. I've certainly received the 8,000 for the 4th dozen bonus.

Does anyone have a link to the bonus arrangements beyond this one that I've found? About | Qantas epiQure?

Certainly not complaining :) but would be interested to understand the generosity structure.

Did you work out what the extra points were from?

Tempted to throw-down $402 on the premium shiraz 6 pack and wouldn't mind some of the "extra" points too! :)
(I've also received the 4th dozen bonus)

No. Post 496 suggests it might have been a straight out glitch that has been fixed.

Well my 3 cases arrived when I was in ADL last Thursday. Damn, I need to drink more often than I am - or start giving more away to clients:

Perfect, had been waiting for a code to lower/remove the fee so I could join up SWMBO as I've just hit my 4th dozen bonus.
