I have been successfully avoiding purchases until I have space under my desk. Bonus point fatigue has set in, so sad
Just got an email from Epiqure for the premium half-dozen. Webpage on Epiqure here:
https://www.qantasepiqure.com.au/Wine/Mixed-Cases/Premium-Inflight-Mixed-Pack/p/MIXINFPRENV
any opinions on quality and price? No bonus pts to sweeten deal, just the straight 3pt/$
Not many bonus points that I can see.
Haven't bought anything for a little while but I just ordered the Premium Inflight mixed pack, and a case of Squealing pig SB (love that). The order qualifies for the Wine Companion offer and will earn 1500 QFF points (with Amex bonus) so not too shabby

Uh oh ........Finally got an epiQure email Thanks for sorting that out Red Roo
Uh oh ........
More wine-buying temptationWhat's that supposed to mean?

I will give you one guess!
Had a panic attack when Epiqure had nil stock for a few months. I've now found it at Dans & 1st choice.......cheaper.
There's none in stock locally for me and I figure at $6 extra per 6 bottles that's probably not bad value for the points earned.
Got a case of 6x St Henri Shiraz 2010 from DMs.
Yes, lucky I know. Screw cap as well.
I saw the offer for "buy 6x Bin series or luxury wines and get a bonus RWT 2011 Shiraz".. even better, I thought!
The people at DM said that the St Henri 2010 was not eligible, even though the 2010 is in the online eligible list of the 206 items.

Hmmm, anyone think otherwise?
I'll have to ring up tomorrow to ask for a manager to double check...

I can't see how they can possibly not give you the RWT. There are no exceptions mentioned in the advert. St Henri is consider a luxury wine....and the word "any" implies, just that.
"We've always offered choice on our red wines, depending on the market."
Penfolds RWT Barossa Valley Shiraz 2011
$175; 14.5% alcohol; screw cap; 95+++ points
2011 Penfolds RWT Shiraz (Barossa Valley, 14.5% alc, drink 2015-2030): Bottle sealed under cork. Very dark to inky purple/red. Sweet, perfumed nose, cooler with more noticeable VA/lift than the previous 2008 vintage, red liquorice and black tea, black pepper and fresh herbs; a soft entry leads to a medium to full weight palate with a peppery, minty, slightly hot mid-palate, finishing very dry and chalky. Not a bad result for the vintage, but not in the same league as the average RWT releases, let alone the best ones.
