Qantas Wine latest offering

That's disgraceful customer service by DM's.

Yes RWT was released in Australia under both screw cap and cork.

Saddened to here such rubbish from your local dans. Time to find another dans close by if possible

After the huge headache, inconvenience and waste of my time I finally have the RWT, but this was after multiple conscious efforts of dishonesty from DMs.
The manager made up some excuse, claiming that she spoke to the person who served me, who allegedly told me that the reason why I didn't get the offer because it was a "while stocks last" offer and they had run out of stock of the 2011 vintage and hence not able to give me the offer. Total BS - I was told by two people that the St Henri was not eligible ("only Bin series"), after me questioning them about if St Henri was considered a "luxury" wine. I knew the answer and they did not mention anything about a "while stocks last", nor does it say it on the website, nor did the call centre people (more than one) say it was a "while stocks last" offer. She then had the gall to tell me that they did me a favour that they had to "drive to another store just to get this bottle for you".. this was after the stock manager told me on the phone earlier in the day that "we're getting a delivery of 8 this afternoon and I'll be sure to hold one for you".

They really screwed up customer service-wise, something Epiqure would never do (in my experience). If Epiqure did make an error, they would rectify it and act so that their reputation is not damaged, or at worst, is repaired.

I've also just checked and the 2011 RWT is a cork, not screwcap as I was told it would be, again another huge **ckup!!

From what I can tell, you can get the 2011 RWT in both cork or screwcap:

Does that sound right - in Australia you would be able to get both cork and screwcap for the luxury Penfolds reds (except Grange) and certainly the RWT?

Terrible customer service!

A mate of mine had the opposite experience in an outer Eastern Melbourne Dan's (I don't know exactly which one, as he didn't mention) - after me letting me know about it after it was posted here (thanks to the poster!), he purchased the cheapest bin Shiraz (28 or 128) for ~ $32 a bottle and as they had sold out of 2011 RWT, gave him a 2009! He may have had to do some haggling, but again he didn't mention it.

As for Epiqure, my experience with them hasn't been the best! Ordered a mixed case before Christmas a couple of years ago and delivery by Auspost was a shambles - website stated delivery was attempted on a day when I was home, but no buzz on my intercom or card left (it appears courier decided it was too hard!) and because it was on the weekend, rather than being left at my local post office, it was left at a parcel centre several km away. Only found this out when I rang to enquire about why I hadn't received it. Difficult to get a case of wine from there when I don't own a car! Epiqure washed their hands of it, even though it's their service provider. Aus post were also useless when I made a complaint. To their credit, Epiqure did replace two incorrect bottles and let me keep the incorrect ones.

That is an issue with Aus Post rather than Epiqure. I've also had issues with botched deliveries and to their credit, AP have been really good at communicating with the driver and making sure it doesnt happen a third time.

I concur, and sadly changing couriers won't solve the problem. Used to work for a company that sent out anything up to 5000 parcels a day, same story no matter who we used.

It is but in my view its Epiquire who I contract with to buy wine and that includes delivery, so they are reponsibile for getting my wine delivered, and it is them that chose to use Aus Post, not me. Some delivery companies are better than others, wouldnt be the first time I've told a wine outlet I'm not going to keep buying if you keep using those idiots to deliver my wine. To be fair this was not Aus Post in that instance and personaly think Aus Post are pretty good, some others are worse.

I guess you could arrange for your own courier but its a lot of effort. Id persist with Aus post, they will speak to your driver. Keep the ref number and keep adding to it if there are more issues.

I will persist with Aus Post, its more the wine supplier washing their hands of the problem that gives me the ****s. The instance I referred to was with Cellarmasters ( a rare occurrence I must say) and the wine was delivered to a neighbouring street and just left, purely by chance it was someone we know.

Cellarmasters had the same view (which I would note is not the view of consumer organisations, fair Trade offices etc) that its not their problem, when I explained I was about to do a chargeback on my CC they did suddenly think it was something they should investigate.

Difficult to explain that while every package in the tracking system has been delivered correctly, one particular wine in the order is missing. Especially when the phone person keeps saying it's strange that it says it's been delivered. Yes, it has been delivered, but you clearly haven't sent everything ordered.

I had that with a non-wine company before, delivery arrived with one item missing. Took two weeks and multiple phone calls with all sorts of excuses such as "you mustn't have ordered it" (I can see it on my invoice), "well you cant have paid for it" (its listed on the paid invoice), "well its not here in the warehouse" (I can only assume youve sent it in someone elses order), ending with "we'll send you one as a sign of goodwill" I don't deal with them now if I can help it.

Had the first call back. The warehouse assures them they shipped everything as ordered. Now the order shows 1 carton x12 bottles wine A, 1 carton x 6 bottles wine B and the Halliday book. What arrived is 2x6 bottles wine A and book. I might understand if the warehouse thought they were sending 2x 6 bottle carton. But it still doesn't explain only getting one type of wine.

DMs has a pretty decent price on Taittinger at the moment for $45.60 per bottle in any six. Combine with 5% discount WISH card and a cash back link (employee programme for me and maybe Start Here for others) and the per bottle price comes in at $41.04.

Epiqure is $59.99 per bottle.

Shame I don't need any at the moment :(.

It's $41.42 as SH reduced their cashback recently.

Had a call from Vintec on Thursday and I will hopefully be celebrating a Wallabies win and delivery of my wine fridge this weekend.

Didn't quite get the quinella - Fridge arrived, but Wallabies could only manage the draw. The delivery guy had already delivered one fridge in our street before he got to us, and had to deliver one in the next street after leaving us.

Epiqure, if you're listening, I'd like a bonus 1-2k points on Billecart and under $50 a bottle please!

Otherwise I await the next Boll/Billecart special at Dans.

Is it my imagination or has the amount of bonus points being offered gone into rapid decline ?
Didn't it used to be 3000 per case, lately 2000 and this week it's 1000

Right on the money Princess Fiona. Also the value compared to points ratio is very poor. I remember last year I got 2,000 bonus points for a case of Squealing Pig. Bargain !!
I would also like 3,000 bonus points on another mystery 6 champagnes. (maybe swap the Moet for Bollinger)
