Qantas Wine latest offering

I do wonder if perhaps the box was physically damaged, potentially with bottle(s) broken, and Aus Post initiated the return to QF Wine as a result? Or Aus Post contacted the sender with the news it was damaged and the sender (QF Wine logistics department) said to send it back …

Makes sense to me.

of course, it they reship the order and it arrives soonish, you will likely never know what really happened. But fin to speculate anyway :). Lots of possibilities, even without becoming too conspiritatorial.
I agree it's likely to have been damaged.
On Aus Post screen info, not our website view it did say "sender recalled" so you could be right that the way it's gone thru the process just saying recalled. Have to be careful of broken glass involved.
Could they open the box to make it safe etc, just put of interest or would that be illegal / not right.

QF ship these orders very efficiently, 3 or 4 days, always great, this will take 2 weeks now all going well so def know something went astray.
Especially as we order a white case on subscription so both dispatched 1st Feb.

Ah I'll survive, will Mrs Moo will with her white case!
If only QF Wine communicated a little.

Followup;

My premium reds subscription has been recalled by Qantas, case heading back to Leppington, NSW.
Spoke with QF Wine, they are hopeless, all they refer to is Aus Post website, which I can see, couldn't shed any more light on situation.
No idea why it's been recalled. How is it possible that QF Wine can recall a case, yet have no idea it's happened or why, nothing on their records.
My QFF points have been recalled.
No idea when/if I'll be delivered actual wine I've ordered.

They couldn't even see that's it's been recalled, just redirected to be addressed, yeah back to NSW.
I went Aus Post to find out more than QF knew.

Bloody basket case.
Zero communication might add.
I've seen this before. Damaged product very likely.

Yep, definitely sounded too generous!
Yep- they explicitly stated that any wine subscription would not count towards the triple points promotion but they still did- just checked my account and voila. A Domestic return flight just on top of a dozen of (really nice) Aussie reds? Count me in!

As long as you don’t need customer service, Qantas wines is the best points collector ever.
The post from Berlin definitely confused! it implied triple points would be earned on the bonus points as well initially, however as they were not, the wines with bonus points at the time was a better points earn than subscription wines. The triple points applies to the dollar amount spent after discounts etc and doesn't apply to bonus points on any wines or subscriptions.

Got a $200 QF wine credit voucher from CSM on recent flight but not sure what to use it on. I usually drink Barossa shiraz but grateful advice on anything else worth trying or good value currently. Are the premium mixed shiraz cases actually worth it?

I rarely look at Qantas Wine as there are better deals to be had elsewhere... but had a browse yesterday and was pleased to find several of their Bethany offerings on sale. I can recommend the Bethany First Village Grenache, now cheaper than Grays, but ended up buying the First Village GSM with great reviews, $198 for the dozen. First Village Shiraz same price for Barossa lovers.

I dont have much experience with Barossa Shiraz. But I would say the Yarra Yering bottles at 99/each are probably fairly priced. Really delicious, lighter and easy-to-drink red.

For a white wine I found the Leeuwin Estate Prelude good value

Good luck!

$200 will go a long way to buying some QFF points with bonus wine.

Take a look here:

Or search using “Bonus Points”.

Also, if you’re a Shiraz drinker McLaren Vale is as good or better than Barossa IMHO.

This might be worth considering. Drinkable mixed doz reds with a solid bonus points offer for an additional $190?

I don't think FlightFormula has been working accurately for a a couple of weeks now.

I think maybe longer. I noticed that often the bonus points were incorrectly reported. Shame because it would save lots of time!

Working for me as far as I can tell.

If you’re not quick, some of the better deals sell out fast so the link can take you to an alternate offer.

It was broken for a short time (the table was empty, I suspect QF wine changed something to break it). I picked up a bottle of the latest 1.88c (for PC) Thorn Clark since then, so I'm happy. One point I would make, and this is a point that is specific to my assessment but others may concur - I do research the wine first and I have passed on several recent CW wines offers, but if I can see concurrence with the price/value on vivino/cellartracker et al, I buy.

I would be double checking, as on Friday I was able to pickup a good points offer that wasn't on FlightFormula and a better points offer than any other wine listed on FlightFormula.

Yes, I do that as well. Just search from time to time to see what’s on offer.

I agree. I think there is currently a better points/dollar deal available than is listed on flightformula. I just picked it up for myself!

Qantas currently have a mixed case of Hewitson, Ned & Henry Shiraz and Miss Harry Grenache, for $198. I think Hewitson is a bit overpriced at RRP but the wines are elegant.
