On Saturday 22 December, A380 A7-APF uneventfully operated QR909, the 2145 hours SYD - DOH, arriving 15 early at 0435 on Sunday 23. However the aircraft ust then have substituted for another, as it ran QR904, the scheduled 2045 hours DOH - MEL that did not take off until 0706 on 23 December.

QF904 then arrived MEL at 0436 on Monday 24, allowing teh scheduled Sunday night 2230 hours QR905 to take off on 24 December at 0753. This will mean many missed European connections.

QR906, the Wednesday 26 December 2018 DOH- SYD, the 0755 hours did not become airborne until mid afternoon at 1525. Arrival on Thursday 27 should be at 1325 hours, seven hours late. The QR906/907 legs between SYD and CBR have been cancelled, the first time I have seen this. QR907 should therefore still be able to depart SYD on time for DOH at 1625 this afternoon. B773ER A7-BEG is the aircraft.

Presumably CBR-bound and originating passengers will fly on QF flights ex and to SYD.

On Boxing Day, the plane had arrived in DOH at 0506, 14 minutes realy on QR633 ex ISB, so in theory it had sufficient time to form the 0755 hours to SYD.

On Monday 31 DEcember 2018, QR908 from DOH to SYD (the 2030 hours on 30 December that took off punctually at 2049 with A380 A7-APG) had been on time but heavy storms in and around Sydney have put paid to that.

As at 1905 hours, the aircraft had been in a hold southwest of Sydney (most recently above Towrang) for many minutes so scheduled arrival of 1855 has become at least 1930.

Due to the Sydney storms that hit on Saturday 5 January 2019 at about 1715 in teh afternoon and continued into the night, QR908 (A380 A7-APD) diverted to MEL with the stop of this normally DOH - SYD flight until takeoff ex MEL at 2109.

SYD arrival looks to be about 2223 hours instead of the normal 1855 hours, or 218 minutes late. It will be interesting to see if this aircraft is able to depart SYD tonight on QR909, the 2145 hours to DOH.

QR904, the DOH - MEL scheduled to arrive on Monday 7 January at 1845 (A380 A7-APA) is instead coming in at about 0047 hours on Tuesday 8. It was in the sky at 0345 this morning despite the timetable stating pushback at 2045 hours.

This will delay QT905, the 2230 hours back to DOH to about 0240 in its pushing back.

The 0230 hours DOH down to PER, QR900 is also late but not nearly as much, with this 0230 hours departure having become airborne at 0331 for predicted arrival at 1925, 45 late. Aircraft is A380 A7-APF.

Wednesday 23 January 2019 sees QR906, the 0755 hours SYD down to CBR having become airborne at 0859 hours. B773ER A7-BEL should arrive at 0939 hours, 44 late.

QR909 (2145 hours SYD - DOH on Thursday 7 February 2019 that was in the sky at 2237) should arrive 53 late on Friday 8 at 0543 hours. A380 A7-APF has the task.

'The West Australian' reports that QR908 from DOH, the scheduled Friday 26 arrival in SYD (A380 A7-APD) normally due at latter at 1755, diverted to PER due to a 'technical issue', arrving at 1440 this afternoon WA time.

No doubt passengers will spend the night in PER (unless QR finds spare seats on a domestic flight PER - SYD):

Qatar Airways flight diverted to Perth over tech issue

Tonight's QR909, the 2115 hours SYD - DOH has been cancelled, so lots of taxi vouchers and overnight hotel stays will be likely. Hotels around major airports must love such unplanned disruptions, although any sensible airline will have agreements with various hotels. Mind you, if an hotel's already full or close to it, a commercial agreement re rates per room won't help much.

It will be interesting if after the required rest in PER, the aircraft (after any required attention) returns to DOH, or proceeds across to SYD.

Sunday April 28th sees QR094 DOH-MEL (A380 A7-API) depart at 1 57, over 302 min late. Arrival is now suggested at 22 20, 270 min tardy. This will impact QR905 which is originally scheduled at 21 35.

It seems that reasons regarding this delay were operational, according to QR.

Tuesday 30 Aptil 2019 sees QR908, the 2035 hours departure from DOH (Monday 29) that took off at 2143 arriving in SYD at a suggested 1829 hours, 34 late. Aircraft is A380 A7=APH.

QR904 from DOH to MEL has A380 A7-APA and on Thursday 9 May 2019 should arrive at 1824, 34 minutes behind schedule.

On Thursday 13 June 2019, QR906, the 0740 hours SYD - CBR did not take off until 0831. Arrival for B773ER A7-BAG should be at 0910, half an hour behind the timetable.

Tuesday 25 June 2019 has QR906's second, short, sector from SYD down to CBR (B773ER A7-BAF) arriving at 0913, 33 minutes behind the timetable. Often this runs on time.

It's not often that QR features twice in one day in these threads but also on 25 June, QR908, the 2035 hours Monday 24 DOH - SYD airborne at 0147 hours is arriving at 2244, 289 minutes late. Aircraft is A380 A7-APJ.

Usually this plane returns at 2115 hours out of SYD as QR909 back to the Middle East. FR24 implies it's still departing tonight but it would be unusual for dispensation to be granted as normally, as jb747 informed us, ATC gives clearance for taxiing to commence by 2245 hours at the latest. Under the applicable Act the aircraft can then take off at any time, but in this case a 2244 arrival means taxiing could not commence until about 0030 hours at the earliest.

UPDATE: Sydney Airport's site suggests that QR909 will push back at 0610 hours on Wednesday 26 June so that settles it. That would make it 535 minutes late. Presumably out of towners have been given an hotel room for the night. Sydney hoteliers love late flights!

The overnight delayed QR909 from SYD to DOH (see previous post) took off on Wednesday 26 June at 0653 so arrival should be 1437 this afternoon local time, 562 minutes behind schedule.

With the Friday 28 June early morning - unusual - fog in Canberra, QR906, the 0740 hours SYD - CBR did not take off until 0918, so arrival for B773ER A7-BEP should be 0956, 76 late.

On Saturday 29 June 2019, QR906, the 0840 hours SYD - CBR is again tardy with takeoff at 0837 meaning arrival at gate at 0915, 35 late for B773ER A7-BEK.

There must have been fog in CBR this morning as on Monday 1 July, QR906 (0740 hours SYD - CBR) took off at 0856 with B773ER A7-BEQ. Arrival should be at 0936, 56 late.
