Qatar Airways status match to Virgin Australia

I've emailed Velocity asking for a copy, without it QR won't accept the request.

I think this is the way to go. Velocity will send you a copy of your account statement if you ask them - I know of at least one person who has received a statement from Virgin this week.

I called the Virgin Australia call centre and was told to email the premium team as they work from home. Email address will depend on your frequent flyer class e,g. [email protected] or [email protected]

How did you get statements? QR asked me to send mine in showing my name/status/FF number, but I don't get them.

then you can save the email as a PDF (Or go Print> Save as PDF) and then upload that an attachment

That what I did and what I sent originally, then they asked for it again.
I've re-sent the same but also requested copy/s of latest statements from Virgin direct in case Qatar comes but asking for something more.

So all of us VA refugees switching across to QF, can we do this?

1) Enter QR FF number in QF booking
2) Get into lounge
3) Change FF number at lounge service desk in QF booking to QFF
4) Collect QFF points

It's a grey area. American expressly prohibits it. Qantas? It depends on the agent but I don't believe there's anything in the rules preventing it. The idea is to put your QR number against your booking, avail yourself of all the associated tier benefits, then change to your QF number at the last moment. You can do this with a lounge, gate or phone agent, although human intervention is best avoided. Once upon a time, the FInnair and Royal Jordanian websites allowed you to change the FF of other programs, provided the airlines involved used the same GDS (Amadeus, I think). I think that's hit and miss these days. Maybe Qatar's website allows you to do the same.

I would respectfully suggest that those who do go about switching FF numbers do so as quietly as possible. The last thing we need is for QF to explicitly outlaw like AA does.

Anyone know if you can bring a guest (travelling partner) with you to the Qantas lounges if you are using your Qatar status to gain entry?

Underneath was my original email to them.

I haven't received an acknowledgement - I sent status match request on Monday Morning & wednesday I recieved email saying they need my velocity card & statement which shows my full name &

I sent status match request on Monday Morning & on Wednesday I received below email saying they require following documents even though I send this in my email as attachment not sure what's happening- also I don't receive any monthly emails from Velocity & online statement doesn't have full name on it - I have sent email to Velocity for statement see what they say I doubt that velocity month statement will have name & velocity membership number

Good question re; bringing guest as OneWorld status flyer into Qantas lounge. Many here would know answer, please?

It's looking like, my gut feeling all of us screen shotting velocity activity will be denied status match, can't imagine Qatar will string this out to June for all to in their mind get their act together / exact T&C's on applying correctly.
Then again may not be possible to fly full international until mid year 2021 anyway so June approval may benefit them more than they anticipate.

Did they anticipate so many apparently requests? surely they did, marketing team there must've been aware.
I'm thinking maybe they'll only match those proving international flying activity proof on Qatar destinations.

I'm not expecting to get status matched.
