Qatar Airways status match to Virgin Australia

I submitted my status match request on Monday, using a screenshot of my activity as opposed to a statement. Unlike others who were asked to resubmit their supporting information I've heard nothing from QR. Given that my recent travel is exclusively domestic it has caused me to wonder if they are only following up with those whose travel patters are more attractive to QR i.e. some evidence of long-haul flying.

I wouldn't think so - they only asked for 2 months of statements and even if the airlines listed for the match did provide March and April statements, Qatar would know that by that stage in the year not many people were flying long haul outside of repatriation.

If they were looking for evidence of your flying patterns I think they would have asked for your previous statements pre pandemic or asked questions on it.

The fact they targeted VA by name means they'd likely be aware of how long Australian borders have been closed for as well, which extinguished long haul flights for even the most active frequent flyers.

I'm hopeful too, I'm just reminding myself that they gave themselves a 10 business day turnaround which is pretty tight considering they offered matches for Emirates, Etihad, South African, Singapore, Turkish and VA. Who knows how much the match was advertised in the circles and forums in the countries and regions of the other airlines.

Submitted mine on 18 May and heard nothing yet.

Anyone know if there are similar status match opportunities for Velocity members for airlines in Star Alliance or Skyteam? Might as well make use of Velocity Platinum while we can!
 
I'm a Monday evening submitter and also have not had any reply or outcome provided.
 
Haven't heard anything either. I submitted on Monday.
With Eid al-Fitr holiday from the 23rd-26th I wonder if the 10 day response time is realistic.
 
Submitted mine Monday lunch time and wife's Monday evening, nothing so far. I'm not aware of any other airlines offering Status match, at least not without a Status challenge but who knows some might come to the table if VA collapses completely.
 
Got a similar email to many others here. I had already sent a photo of my card (valid until 31 July, but I'd already re-qualified for Gold) and PDF copies of both the last two 'statement' emails from Velocity, plus a full page save of my activity page on the VA website.

Have now emailed the gold email earlier in this thread requesting statements be emailed.

I didn't see this in some other replied posted here, but they included the statement in bold below that suggests they think we can get them from the VA website ourselves when that is not the case.

Well Velocity was meant to mail me a new membership card but due to Covid-19 it hasn't happened. So I took a screenshot on the mobile app showing my membercard and a screenshot of the online account showing it too.

Took screenshots of my account activity but that wasn't good enough

Also received a follow up email regarding details provided. I have a physical card but did not have a statement at the time hence the screenshots. They said they cannot accept screenshots but I have since received a PDF statement from Velocity as I requested so I will send them that. I guess screenshots can be manipulated and they do not have a name attached yet the statement does.

I applied on Monday also but received the email to resend all attachments again, including statements, not screenshots.
What statements and in what format did you send yours in order for them to accept them??

I did that already. Sent them a PDF that looks just like your example - they didn't accept it
 
I think this is the way to go. Velocity will send you a copy of your account statement if you ask them - I know of at least one person who has received a statement from Virgin this week.
I requested a copy of my ststement and they sent it to me within 24 hours.
