Lets hope BNE is not going the way of ADL and PER.

Getting closer. They are losing the 747 BNE-SIN service to an A330. Loads the past few times I have travelled that route have not been great.

Seems strange that the re-timing of the outbound QF9 seems to have been pushed through to QF's booking system, and I assume therefore to other GDS, but the inbound QF10 still seems to be showing at the old time of 2225 departure ex-LHR :S

I booked QF9/10 for October/November about 10 days ago, under the 'old schedule'. Have just been informed of QF9 change via QF My Bookings, but my QF10 booking remains same ie 2215 departure , arriving Melbourne 2 days later in early morn. This is at odds with the reported shift to 1330 departure from London.!? A phone call to Qantas no doubt required, perhaps returning to Aus via Sydney on QF2 if same fare deal (sale PY) applies.

The opposite has happened with my bookings for March. QF9 not yet updated, whilst QF10 has :?:
It looks as though only weekdays have been updated at this point in time. I'm assuming in all the cases when you have a flight at the old timing it's a Saturday or Sunday?

Yes it was, and I was pretty annoyed not to be offered a seat in a revenue fare class on my first choice QF2 on the same day.
I got my QF9 FASA changed to QF1 today without any hassle. There was no P class availability on QF1 but that was not an issue. I'd definitely call back.

As a side note, with my booking changed to QF1 there are once again 2 P seats on QF9 on January 23 - P seats Aus-LHR just grew by 33% on that day!

I would have thought that increasing BNE-HKG to daily would have signaled an intention to keep BNE as an international port. The 747 on BNE-SIN, I read somewhere, had more to do with keeping a W product on the route to connect to LHR than origin-destination BNE to SIN demand.

All of my QF9s are weekday and none are updated so far. I managed to swap one of these non-updated flights (also a FASA) to QF2. The other 2 flights are not as critical and I'll wait to see what I'm offered.

Correct re: weekends it appears, as my unchanged QF10 is a Sunday. I will contact Qantas re: QF1 and QF2 although PY seats may be in short supply.

Fantastic news!

And at the same time continue to downgrade SIN/BKK to A330's.

I know, I know. You can't please everyone.

This thread is about the 388 to DFW and 9/10 re timings, not SIN/BKK/etc etc via 330's, which we are all quite aware of.

I was booked in F on QF10 in December and wasn't wild about losing a day in London. I found availability for the following day and have just got off the phone with AA having made the change.

If I have to overnight in MEL to make it back home to CBR so be it.

The potential changes to the allocation of the A380 on QF127/128 still have me somewhat concerned. Have booked a trip in F on that service for my 30th birthday next year.

Seems the full set of changes has now pushed through to the GDS. QF's website was showing the updated inbound and outbound departure times this morning.

For the date I am travelling on QF10 in December it is still showing the 22:15 departure. Checking a number of dates in November also show the 22:15 departure.

What dates are you seeing the revised departure time for?

So far for me:

QF9 April 2015
QF9 November 2014
QF9 January 2015
QF9 October 2014

I'm still waiting on a QF10 for October 2014.

Thanks :)
Just checked my outbound QF9 for next March and it's updated. Quick call to the Plat desk to change my connecting SYD-MEL. Now have a more manageable 4 hours in the MEL Flounge instead of 10

Looks like I've been moved from qf10 to qf2 for a JASA in August. I'm guessing this is because I'm connecting through to bne.

Had to call up and request an later flight to mel for the FASA. I like the Flounge but maybe not for 12 hours :)

Wish I knew I could have requested a change to qf1 over though. Probably too late now.

I have QF10 flights in October (separated by 2 day break in Dubai). Nothing changed as of 11am so called up and got moved to QF2s for both sectors, and an additional domestic J sector to get to Melbourne, with onward travel to Canberra several hours later same day (but booked on same ticket). Cost $20 extra so not too bad. But glad I booked this morning as preferred J seats already taken.

Friendly and good assistance from Jai on the premium line this morning, to make change even though my flights had not yet shown up as needing it on the system (doing in batches), and given final destination is Canberra I may just have been routed there straight and required to pay a full business fare Syd-Mel.

Have QF10 booked in November in J; originally wanted QF2 but not available.

Just been offered same seats on QF2: gotta get lucky some times!

JV:)

Only just found out this news when I jumped on the QF website to look at price availability for a return trip MEL - DFW + a bunch of AA flights as well - will have to read up on AA fare classes/status points etc to get maximum return after I went from WP to whatever the code for Gold is on the 30th of April.

Frankly I think that it is great news all around - A380's to DFW will be awesome, and the MEL - LHR times suit me much better - hate morning arrivals at destinations.

Now can someone come up with a great status run from CLL to BWI and return? Have an entire day for CLL to BWI, but need a late Saturday afternoon departure from BWI and an overnight stop somewhere then arrive at CLL by 11am Sunday morning - should be easy right?!:lol::lol:

Just got a call today about our flight on QF9 to London and got it switfched over to leaving on QF1 from Sydney which is good as we had to fly from SYD to MEL in the first place so worked out well

Checking my booking on Qantas.com (AA is giving an error message) shows I have been moved to QF2 with an 85 minute connection to a flight to CBR. Although I know I will have luggage and items to declare to biosecurity I'm not that concerned since it is on the one PNR.

Outcome is I get an extra day in London :)

Thought I'd try my luck and requested a change to QF1 and quoted the commercial policy as per serty's earlier post and was happily changed over (after a bit of a wait on hold). Very happy :)

So, luckily I haven't yet booked the onward puddle jumper from LHR or I would have lost my money!!
Can I be certain there won't be more changes?

I've been watching a couple of P seats on QF10 for the week I'm hoping to travel - a few days back (before the new timings were released) those 2 seats became 6 (2 x 3 different days) - and now suddenly almost the whole week is wide open :) Hopefully it will stay that way long enough for me to lock in my dates. The downside of the new wide open award space, is that I no longer have an excuse to suggest to hubby that we "need" to spend a day or two in Paris before the trip, as there was no early morning BA award availability on the day we were looking to go and traveling earlier would have meant being hit with the APD for a 24hr+ stop in London....might just do it anyways :)
