QF Booking Class?

Hidden QF Fare buckets have been annoying me for quite a while now and no, I haven't installed the GreaseMonkey script as I use IE.

What has changed though is that my QF bookings now show up on my Amex statement with Departure / Arrival point, Class of ticket ('N' in this case), name of passenger and eTicket Number.

Never seen all that information on my credit card statement before - something must have changed recently to generate a 5 line reference (other merchants get a 2 line reference) for each QF transaction on Amex.

Check the page include parameter in the script, is it using http? If so then change to https.

I hadn't noticed that it was broken, but your fix works. You don't have to edit the script either, you can just add the above as a user setting.

When making a domestic booking the upgrade eligibility shows when selecting a fare.

Wouldn't it just be simpler for everybody if Qantas showed the fare booking class during the booking process, so that customers could know, and make a choice if they wished to?

Qantas would prefer PAX do not know what fare bucket they are booking.

Yes. Good luck with convincing Qantas that they should change!

A caveat here. I have come across no specific policy in relation to this statement.

I have inferred it from a complete lack of action to make this information readily available over the last decade and a half that I have been watching.

So, the question is "why not?" Why does Qantas want to hide this information? It is important for people who have membership of other OneWorld programs for example, to know what credits they will get. Is there a commercial reason to hide it?

I can't think of another airline that does not show the booking class. Of course, my experience is limited, but I use CX, CA, and SQ a lot, and it is always easy to see.

I come across Emirates website and it does the same thing - you have no idea what class you are booking to even once purchase is finalized.
That prevents you from playing with tariffs and actually see how they fit to Qantas Earn Categories for OneWorld alliance flights.

I can see why QF will not put out onto display what subclass of Y you have bought into that fare for the trip in question, until you are sent the "documentation".
My pooch mind puts it into the finance area.
If you don't know what class/subclass you have looking at into, or someone is looking to book you into, you can't play the SC game to its fullest.
Except for J or subclass of it, in Y, you don't know from the SC earn is on that fare do you, till you have bought it.
All to do with more $ for QF of course.

Don't be so cynical. I'm a web developer, so I can see that if there's no need to include it in the page then it won't get included. And there's no need because of priorities - lets face it, points junkies that rely on the booking classes are in the extreme minority. If the feature request would even go through to the team, it would just get deprioritized to make way for features and (genuine) enhancements that more people can use.

I sent an email to UL when they updated their website complaining that the fare code was useful in determining if I would select a flight. (Their standard "non discount" but lower fare class in Y is "V" which earns 50% on CX. The next one up "R" earns 100%)

Fare information showed up about 6 weeks later.

PS: The UL website loads a LOT faster than QF's since it doesn't include massive amounts (number and size) of advertising graphics.
