Have selected and paid for my flights in January when my new year starts. Will see me go from zero to 1280 status credits in 10 days for under $4300.00 :D so WP for another 2 years. Now I can look at maintaining my Star Gold :D

Woah, care to post the flight plan? :)

For those that are heading to Australia/Pacific through Central/SE Asia:

I recent booked a fare that would normally provide 280 SCs for approx AUD$1,150 (or approx $4.1 per SC). The DSC yields 480SC on this route (or ~$2.40 per SC). I've booked a one way so far and trying to get a return to price out on any OTA has been extremely challenging (it should price out at around $2,200 return to yield 960 SCs - 800 on QF operated and marketed - or ~$2.30 per SC)

I've only got a return to price successfully yesterday, but didn't book and then couldn't get it to do so today :( . (this was on h3llow0rld - again sorry to obfuscate the OTA, but I'm being paranoid)

These are only easily found if you know how to use ITA Matrix and the return flights price out easily if you ask correctly - getting them to "translate" to an OTA is the fun part.

this fare has been around before and seems to only price on UL ticket stock via a travel agent(s).

I also couldn't get any of these cheap itineraries to price on US based OTAs - only Australian ones so far.

The fare has been posted both here and on the "other forum" about a year ago - but this time will not price with simple origin/destination. It has to have each leg.

I am hoping this is obvious enough - but will be happy to reveal more once I've done my bookings. I've been waiting and checking for this fare since it disappeared months ago.

Later Edit: I managed to book my one-way on 3xp3dia

Booked a class T (Y+ sale). I'm guessing these are still upgradable to J?
(but earning T 2x sc's only).

IOWQFLK6 or is it a different fare? I can only get it to 200 sc each way (before doubling), so it looks like you've found something better  :D

Should be in fare description on your booking

sorry maybe not clear, my question is in respect to the double sc's promotion T&C's.
I can't see in the offer that "2x sc Bookings" are precluded from being upgraded with points.

I always book T fares out of Auckland (don't fly WHY these days). T are treated as flexible economy for SC earn and also upgrades
not bad for $1799 return to HKG from AKL....

Trying to use this to go PER-JFK in business as this turbo charges status credits. I think it produces 1440.

Hey folks... How long does it take for the SC to show up in the account?

I received the email like everyone else a few days back. Click on the link in the email and it said I was subscribed to the promotion.

Today I flew NTL-BNE in flex but only got 20SC! (Instead of 20 * 2)

I booked 5 trips after the clicking on the link... Does it mean I didn't do right and won't get the 2xSC?!

According to the T&C the bonus SC may take up to 6 weeks to appear in your account. Previous experience suggests it wont take as long as this but it does seem to be a separate activity line to the regular SC.

I would not worry if you are relying on any SC (bonus or otherwise) to catapult you into a higher Tier Status. So long as the flight generating the required SC/bonus SC is taken on or before the anniversary date you will be fine. Occasionally you may have to ring up.

As usual it is important to monitor accounts whether credit card, bank, or frequent flyer. Any discrepancies should be clarified by a phone call sooner rather than later.

Thanks for the reply QS..

I read the T&C and completely missed that! It might because I was post night shift..

My anniversary is in October and I'll be over the SG quota by then. My QP anniversary, on the other hand, is on the 30th of June and was hoping I could get SG before then to avoid renewing it.

Will keep a close eye on the summary activity..

I just booked some flights using aquire in 2 weeks time.
Im hoping that
1 aquire is ok to use and still get DSC
2 that everything posts by the end of May and that I can get my shinny new status card before early June.

By the sounds of everyone booking flights I forsee a lot of status flyers over the next few years. Prepare for more people in lounges and more work for those CSM's with those personal greetings.

Whilst a lot of people on AFF may be booking flights this doesn't necessarily represent the overall QANTAS Frequent Flyer experience.

Just to add that my experiences have been mixed. Some post early and some don't post at all (until you chase them up).

On one occasion I made the mistake of sending off an email a week too early, just to get a reply reminding me of the T&C. Needless to say, no bonus points appeared when due, so another email to get them posted.

Will remain curious then.

Currently sitting on 10 SCs and as I already have LTG the only point of this promotion for me is to use it to earn 1190 SCs before 31 Dec or not bother. So, I'm debating with myself how much WP is worth to me, and whether I'm better off giving my money to the int airlines that actually fly to ADL.

Not sure yet which side is winning, but I still have 2 days to decide.
