QF Double Status Credits (SC) offer for all :)

Interesting. Will have to check when my 50% came through. I know it was late last year, but it depends- are they talking about when it was offered (which I think was about October?) or when it was active? (I think it was for flights up to about the 5th Jan...)

Edit: The wording is specifically

I read that as the time the offer was made, not the time the offer expires, so I think I should be alright!

Thanks guys you have just saved me thousands
I had not read the T & C's properly
I got a 50 % offer 2 months ago
We are going to Bangkok in October and I was going to BUY 2 Business tickets today to make WP. Having read the 189 day comment I will now buy Economy and try for an upgrade

Red Roo this is stupid on Qantas' part ! How does it encourage loyal QFF'rs to keep spending on premium tickets ??

The 180 day term has since been removed from the terms and conditions of the promotion. I got the same offer last week and have registered and may book flights.

The 180 day term has been removed from the offer. It doesn't matter when your last SC offer was, you will be eligible for this one.

I think we have had some questions asked and answered multiple times in a three day old thread.

Gosh - you really like to analyse to the 9th degree :). OK - I had no idea when I made the comment that the offer was available to all on the website. I am not denying it is or that there is a button for all or anything else. All I was saying with no hidden meanings or implications or arguements was that two of us got an email with a button in the email and three of us didn't. Seemed odd to me, given the profiles of two of the people are identical. Same status, same renewal date, same current number of credits. One gets the email, one doesn't.

I too received an email. But Mrs GPH didn't. So for some it looks like a targeted offer

OK *ALMOST* All !!

Conditions apply:
- mostly QF flight # and *operated* flights (eg: no partners such as JQ, EK etc) with some AA transpac exceptions
- travel till April 17
- Book between 28 April - 4 May
- anyone who has had a SC offer in the last 6 months is ineligible

EDIT: The final stipulation has been removed from the T&C.

Still, a nice little Christmas in .. April.. for those that can take advantage of it.

M8 this is going to mean I am going to be WP for the first time ever, purely on the work dime. I am incredibly grateful. In the event you and I are ever at the same AFF event, I will buy you multiple beers. Many thanks.

Going into the discussion of the purpose and meaning of this offer. I'm just mapping out my known flights for the rest of the year, and I've realised that the offer means I can avoid booking the 6am Monday morning flights that are priced stupidly high in the range $219 to $265. My return flight is going to provide the SC (double) of the Monday morning flight and I can save some money by flying VA. If that flight was definitely going to be full I'd accept the sky high pricing, but more often than not it isn't full.
I might also bump up my tax deductible flights to flexi out of the money saved. So Qantas are going to claw some of my cash back from the ATO.

Another unrelated comment. I posted and deleted something earlier today. I've now thought of a better way to express the thought:

First rule of fight club - Don't talk about fight club!

I have successfully argued the point that a flight booked in May with a gift voucher purchased in December is still a flight booked in May. YMMV.

But in saying that I am purchasing new gift vouchers for this promotion as I don't want to stuff around.

The approach I take as well. Would much rather not have to argue my case. Still I've got about $3000 of vouchers hanging around.

Other than the flight requirements of this promo, do gift vouchers have an expiration date? If no, I might just get my first purchase of them.

They last for just on a year. like 335 days or whatever it is

medhead, with the greatest of respect, i posted that comment because of the number of people where who were confused, but when trying to understand what was possible, got slammed by some on this forum who like to slam people for not understanding. So you can't slam people for not being able to read through the lines, and then slam someone for being upfront. This should be a helpful forum to help people navigate their way through things.

Anyway, I've now removed my post that maybe talked too much about fight club!

Does it usually take the full length of time QANTAS specified it can take up to for the bonus SCs to come through?

Thanks for this. I have capitalised once, and will be capitalising again most likely before 2xSC is over.

Have selected and paid for my flights in January when my new year starts. Will see me go from zero to 1280 status credits in 10 days for under $4300.00 :D so WP for another 2 years. Now I can look at maintaining my Star Gold :D
