Well I've flown a flight I changed. Will be interesting to see if I get DSCs or not.

As long as you meet the prescribed terms and conditions your good:

'Full or part travel of an itinerary is eligible only if you book and travel within the promotional dates as listed above. If you change or cancel your initial qualifying booking and/or travel is completed outside the promotional period, this bonus offer will not apply. Bonus Status Credits may take up to 6 weeks after completion of your travel to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account'.

Well I changed from discount Y to Flex Y so I'm not relying on getting any DSCs for the flight. Will be nice if I get them but I will get to WP without them.

Not sure when Gold had access to lounges on arrival, but this may be a sign of things to come.

They have never had legitimate access. They usually got in because the lounge dragons didn't bother asking for a boarding pass. This guy got hauled up and thought it worthy to complain...

Well looks like QF did another DSC swipe as my Monday flight just got the bonus credit but not my Wednesday flight. So it appears first DSC run was Tuesday, second was Thursday going off posts to this forum.

Why wouldn't you get them? So long as your new flight is completed within the promotional travel period they will attract the DSCs.

They should:
I'd booked a Y flight to Auckland during the DSC period, then changed the flight this week to J when I noticed the J Sale price was dropped to just $198 more than the Y Sale price we paid on our outbound flight. I rang Q to change the booking and asked if the DSCs would still be valid. Ticketing put me through to QFF who confirmed that if the booking number didn't change, then yep, the DSCs would still come through. The DSCs made the $100 change fee worth it!

Nice. Those should come in handy for you.

I didn't want to take any risks as I want to make sure I get to SG on the date I planned to.

It was one of the three large scrolling centre tiles on the home page during the entire promotion period...

yup. I'm blind.. but even I saw it an hour or so after it went live on the website (and created this thread :D )

I also saw it on the QF website before AFF.

A related question to the contrarian discussion around this offer. I didn't think Qantas was able to charge credit card fees on bookings outside Australia? As removal of credit card fees is the only reason to use gift vouchers, I'm not sure why the purchase in Australia condition is important.

That would depend on the rules in the country that the first flight on the itinerary is departing from.

Correct medhead.
AFAIK QF do not charge credit card fees for any bookings originating outside Australia.

It seems QANTAS has been doing a number of sweeps of DSCs. I wonder if there will be one this week. Will be interested to see if my changed flights automatically get DSCs.

Has anyone received the DSC's for flights booked (after the promo period) using a voucher (brought during the promo period)??

The booking creation date has to be within the promo period to get the DSCs.

See Red Roo's post 191 in this thread

The question has been (and still is) whether the "later booking" inherits the date of the gift card/voucher. Which historically it appears to have done.

The question is "How do I rort the system"? Really? Do tell us about the sensibility of discussing that in public.

Rather the question is - do some of the members of AFF understand the implemented nuances of QFF's computer systems better than the "business analysts" that are hired by QFF to create incentives which are designed to reach management goals?

In this case, I think (speculation) that QF wanted a lot of cash to sit in their escrow accounts. In the end in matters not whether it is prepaid tickets or vouchers. And they probably succeeded in achieving that goal. The measurement of the QFF member interest in "cheap SCs" likely was a free bonus.

Having built and implemented business critical computer systems (by myself) and having watched them be replaced by a team of six ten years later, my opinion of current IT practices is "marginal"
