I just received my first lot of DS Credits for flights on 3 May and 5 May MEL-BNE-MEL so looks like QF is doing at Tuesday swipe, not that this pick up Monday's flight.

That's disappointing significance! I take it you didn't receive an email from QF? (my first two arrived April 28, with a reminder on May 3).

I either didn't receive it or it disappeared into my spam folder! Not sure which.

That is disappointing. How close are you going to get? If you are very close it could be worth doing a status run to make up the difference.

I have two more trips booked for May... All discount economy... Only one flight on VA... hmm. Actually, I think I will just hit the target exactly even without the bonus!

I can't remember last time I've been asked to show my card; your boarding pass will usually say FF GOLD SAPPHIRE 55512345.

AA lounges in the US normally want to sight a physical card, boarding pass was not enough, most of the time, last time I visited LOTFAP.

Also, Finnair AY lounge in HEL demanded the card to let me in to the 'premium' section.

Having been through about a dozen AA lounges in usa last month... none asked for a card. Status on bp was enough.

I concur. I forgot to put my QP card back in an easily accessible placr on a return leg lat year. AA lounge in SFO just scanned my BP and confirmed i had access.

Same for me - never once shown or needed my card in the US (nor Helsinki for that matter).

Interesting. My experience is exact opposite.

Boarding passes only shown for AC in T4 LAX, AC in SFO in 10/15, AC T4 at LAX in 03/16, Flagship Lounge T4 LAX (they wanted passport, though), AC JFK 03/16 (wouldn't admit to Flagship even though connecting to QF12 in F). Same in 01/15 at LAX and DFW. {I'll admit Mrs C stresses and always has her card ready to present but I'm the one holding and presenting the boarding passes. :lol: }

I did have to show my QF card for ID at QF F lounge at LAX because AA at JFK didn't/couldn't give us boarding passes for QF12 LAX-SYD.

Luckily Ive never had to show card as the boarding pass said "QF ******* Emerald" or the like and that was enough.

No idea about AY lounge

I thought it was a "free for all" and on their website ?

Free? With Qantas?
Perhaps with no additional cost when you booked the slightly more expensive flights with a departure location in Australia?
And yes the sign up incurred only a debt of only your time. And while some may have found it on the web site, I used the email note and link. Though I don't recall seeing an obvious note on the home page...

And back to happy wandering

Departure location in Australia? Don't remember seeing that in the Ts and Cs.

Never my experience. the big fat "EMERALD" has been enough at lounges such as LAX T4 (entry into Flagship lounge), ORD, DFW and others. Once i offered my card and they waved it off.

I guess YMMV.

Interesting. Am passing through in a few weeks.. see what happens

wait there's a "Premium" section?! lol That the part with the Sauna? that's in the intra-EU part right?

Yes it was, but I'm confused how your question related to my post(which you quoted) which was about the posting of DSC.

the promo was absolutely free to all - but you still had to register of course. There may well have been some who did not get (or notice) the email or see the big splash screen on the website, and thus may have booked but not been registered and thus not eligible to receive the DSC. (I can imagine coprorate clients, for example)

I was passing through JFK-HEL-LHR, so not sure, I don't quite get the "schengen" thing.

This was the sign at the desk. Right for business, left for elites. Left was nicer (i only realised just prior to leaving to board, unfortunately). I didn't see a sauna, but showers were accessible to both and were quite nice suites. Very new looking.

Awesome helpful pic - thank you!

yes that's the non-schengen area (UK is not part of it) - excellent I'm going BUD-HEL-HKG so will check out "To the Left, To the Left" :D

There was no restriction other than QF metal(and selected AA codeshares) for qualifying flights.

Apologies - restriction is on the use of gift cards. Which was my only interest with relation to the "offer"

Happy wandering

And there was zero restriction there. I am not sure why you thought that?

I have received DSC for gift voucher booked flights.

QANTAS vouchers are "Redeemable for one-way or return Qantas domestic or international flights departing Australia only." See Qantas Vouchers|Terms and Conditions

That is the restriction I think he was referring to. That if you use a voucher the outbound leg must commence in Australia.
