QF Double Status Credits (SC) offer for all :)

I think I might change to book Flex Economy if possible. That way even without DSCs I would get sufficient SCs for these flights and if I still get DSCs for the changed flights that is a bonus, but I'm not relying on it.

Edit: Ended up changing both flights to different times and changing them to Flex Economy.

As long as you change the same booking you should still get DSC on the new flights. :)

I take it no one has received any of their double status credits (which, from what I've read here present as a separate line item from the qualifying flight)?

Even if someone flew at the earliest possible qualifying time then DSCs wouldn't have to be credited till June. Hopefully it doesn't take that long but it could.

Yes it would appear as a separate line item. My standard SCs from some recent flights are already on my activity statement.

Hmm, interesting.

I hope that the DSCs post before my review date.

Even if they post after as they are for flights in this membership year then you should still keep/attain the status level you are after. The DSCs would count towards the SC count in the year the flights were flown.

The most you would need to do is once the DSCs are credited is give them a call to sort things out if it's not done automatically.

Does this mean that, for example in my case, I fly late May, my QFF anniversary is end of June, so say the double points don't post until July, then they will apply to the 2016-2017 QFF year and not the QFF year I actually flew in?

No. They apply to the year in which you flew.

So depending how long the DSCs take to post you could have a few weeks where your status drops because the DSCs haven't yet posted (if you are relying on those to retain/attain status) but once they post it should sort itself out. If somehow it doesn't once the DSCs post you could give QANTAS a call to sort it out and you should then get a new card in the mail.

or one could be proactive before the anniversary date, say a few days, and call and say "I flew these flights in May, it's June 28th and my anniversary is about to lick over" and ask if hey can manually process them.

I agree it would be annoying if one had to do that, but QF are being explicit in the T&C about how long it could take. As often discussed here posting of bonus points or SC's can almost be a lottery between a few days to weeks but nobody could claim QF haven't been up front about this.

Some might be luckier than others with this. I sent off an email about six months ago, the six weeks was almost up. QFF reply to my enquiry was ....

"Dear Mr xx_xx_xx_,

Thank you for contacting The Qantas Club and Frequent Flyer Service Centre.

As detailed in the promotion, 'Bonus Status Credits may take up to 6 weeks after completion of travel to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.'

We're unable to manually credit these transactions inside that period.

If you'd like to know more, please visit qantas.com/frequentflyer or call The Qantas Club and Frequent Flyer Service Centre on 13 11 31 between 7am and 7pm (AEST/AEDT), Monday to Saturday, and speak to one of our consultants. If contacting us from overseas, visit qantas.com/contactfrequentflyer or call +61 (2) 9433 2329.

Yours sincerely,

xx_x xx_xx
The Qantas Club and Frequent Flyer Service Centre"

Anyway, they still didn't post at seven weeks, so another email off to QFF. No harm in trying, I guess.

DC3 - interesting. I have had manual adjustments done in the past but I also understand what they're saying.

maybe it's because I've phoned and explained the situation

anyway good luck to all our punters hoping to not NEED (or want) manual intervention ! :)

(still no DSC credit here)

Well I may not have my DSCs yet but I'm already seeing some of the benefits of my DSC status run. Much better seat selection availability for PS compared with NB.

If only I had been checking this forum more regularly and had seen this earlier! I've had a trip a week for the past few weeks, but without the double status credits, I am going to fall just shy of a level-up. Serves me right for not being more of a regular at AFF!

That is disappointing. How close are you going to get? If you are very close it could be worth doing a status run to make up the difference.

OK while not the DSC offer per se, just saw a weird example of even weirder bonus points posting

this was from the double POINTS offer back at start of April

I registered and booked flights flown on 10APR. 3 of them

2 posted on 10APR (same day) with regular points and the 3rd posted the next day 11APR (interestingly the 3rd flight was a QFLink flight, the others were mainline - which probably means nothing)

12 days post flights, 2 sets of double points posted - for the 2 flights that credited on 10APR

and I just noticed today, on 09MAY, that the 3rd flight double points just posted - ie the flight that posted 11APR

i'm sure there's logic there in terms of how QF processes flights, then followup sweeps (which seem to be monthly-at least on this tiny sample) but interesting all the same - I didn't even notice on 2 out of 3 flights had posted for double points previously. lol

So anyway relating back to this thread - based on this example it could be all over the joint! LOL

I think a few of us will have a nervous wait as we hope DSCs will post before subsequent flights.

Yep. Im going to be nervously waiting for the DSC and the new card before my flights. Card is just an insurance piece for lounge access but will be flying qf so should be ok.
