QF-EK broken promises

I think that way beyond what Katy was referring to. Heterosexuals will be arrested for inappropriate cuddling in public or contact. Don't be sucked in that this is a kind benevolent race.
Unless they're basically screwing in the public terminal transiting DXB won't affect a couple of any sort.

Yet somehow millions upon millions of western people are passing through dxb/auh/doh every year without issue. Amazing!

It varies, for the routes I've flown, the difference has been less than $100. Worth it to avoid a Melbourne or Sydney backtrack while still earning full SCs.
In my case I look at SYD-DXB-CDG and SYD-MEL-SIN quite often and I have never found an appreciable price difference between QF and EK coded flights.

Oh I just saw your posts in the playground thread. Your replies make a bit more sense now.

After the recent announcement of yet another QF enhancement on EK flights I started thinking of all the other things that either failed to happen or have been withdrawn after AJ's grand announcement that the EK-QF partnership would bring us the best of both airlines.

.....

Herewith the start of the list:

1...

Many of these are QF commercial decisions with little to no relevance to EK.

If folks were booking PER/ADL/BNE international flights these would have never been enhanced away. If anything, EK is now filling gaps where QF can't make the commercials work.

There's ~20 airlines flying AU -> EU daily. If Qantas no longer meets your requirements why not simply fly another airline? You can continue crediting flights to QFF and fly other airlines.

Times change...

Passing is what I would call it. I won't send my friends or family thru there if I had a choice.

Must have bacon or at least ham with eggs for breakfast.

You would think the simplest solution would have been to leave bacon on the menu and if you don't like bacon you can have one of the other options. Too simple right?

Or you can always fly someone else. It's not as if the EK/QF JSA is the only offering, between Australia and Europe at least.

Agree, and I won't use EK so QF lost me completely on this route as a matter of principal.

Surely there is more to peoples issue than the lack of bacon? If all of those people genuinely had bacon and eggs for breakfast each day I would be staggered....

Seems to me that some people are simply looking for a reason to complain!

But the odd person or persons may not, this is the sort of place I cannot support. While I may be ok with it myself I am intolerant of the intolerant.

"Qantas has said that Jewish and Israeli passengers will be safe transiting through Dubai, provided they don't leave the airport,'' Stirling said. ''But what happens in the event of a catastrophe or severe weather when airport hotels are full?''

A lack of a bacon sandwich is an excellent reason to avoid somewhere.

Amazing how Singapore managed to do all that building while completely respecting the rights of foreign labourers and not making anyone feel like a second-class citizen.

Big call to say this. I wouldn't say rights of foreign labourers are completely respected .... If one gets injured on the job life in Singapore can become very difficult for them. Undoubtedly much better than in Middle East but I'd say still not afforded the same standard of protection they would be in say AU/NZ or much of Europe.

Enhanced bacon out...... Some like complaining others see it as our freedom to choose bacon. Being enhanced out.

Broken promises: Chauffer Drive offered then restricted to fights via DXB...

QF have just become a (albeit highly restricted) travel agent.

And I do miss bacon for breakfast ;)

Its not qantas' fault your friends are anti-arab...

Sad they are missing out on a pretty lovely place to transit.

My friends are definitely not anti-Arab and I find the comment offensive. They have good reasons why travelling through DXB is not safe for them.

Ahh. Yes that should definitely be a standard across more routes. Shame it isn't. Then again they might need First to more destinations.

And AJ promised to roll it out across the long haul network and then rolled it back up again and put it in the bin

As an Adelaidian we have no choice if we want to fly International direct out of Adelaide. So it is all Emirates. When I look at negative reviews I always check off what is important for me. Things like no bacon just dont worry me. Plenty of time for that on the ground. We have now taken many Emirates flights, and we have been much better looked after with regards to upgrades than we ever were with Qantas.
I have a friend in ADL who initally welcomed the EK-QF tie up. My friend now flies to MEL to get QF and will not fly EK

And some do have trouble like to childrens' cancer doctor who was chucked in jail because a child he treated over 10 years ago died (as was expected). He was in transit.
