Most probably AUD, when booking using expedia.com.au. Need to use expedia.co.nz if you want to pay in NZD.

I thought so but wanted to double-check if there is a better deal before booking on QF.

It isn't a bad deal but then you do have to deal with the expedia T&Cs - not good if you need to change anything usually...

Which currency were you charged by?

On QF site price is $NZD895 which is about $AUD800.

I was charged in Australian Dollars as I booked on a .au website.

I also received tracking of my .80% cashback via cashrewards which bought the price down to $795AUD

thanks.. just thinking whether worth booking via expedia for the 0.08% cashback or directly via qantas website..

I can't comment about expedia, but i booked through helloworld and just logged into QF's website and picked my seat there.

Helloworld credit card fee of $AUD16.02 is slightly higher than expedia.com.au of $AUD14.00.

Thanks for the heads-up qantas21. I booked my ticket a few months ago and HW were quite a bit cheaper than Exp but it's helpful to know for anyone else looking at booking the flight.

I actually regret not buying directly through Qantas because I assume I'll be better looked after if there's any problems (I expect that QF would simply tell me to ring my travel agent), and I would have got bonus QF points by booking through my Amex card. Ah well, I've learnt for next time.

You are most welcome PaulST. I dislike playing the currency conversion game with my credit card and prefer to book in AUD.

I didn't know that Australian issued Amex get bonus points on Qantas NZ? Does it just post as Qantas on your statement which therefore qualifies the bonus points?
