QF Platinum Denied Lounge on Arrival with Qantas Sydney Airport

What is the overhead for an interstate user? Can they just QR code and fill out a web form like most pubs when they had their own system?
Foreigners can set an account up, but it’s a slow process. Did it today with a friend from Queensland. Took about 3 different “verifications” and we eventually got checked in around the time our food showed up at my local Malaysian place. I’d probably suggest “pre-registering” rather than trying to do it in the doorway of a lounge.

You don't need to set up an account. Just scan the QR code in the camera app, and select the webform option instead of installing the app.

Do I need a MyServiceNSW account in order to use the COVID Safe Check-in tool in the Service NSW app?

No, you do not need a MyServiceNSW account. You can complete a guest check-in (no account log-in required) using the COVID Safe Check-in tool in the Service NSW app. If you do not wish to download the Service NSW app you can complete the Service NSW webform check-in.

I became platinum last year and had really looked forward to using the lounge on arrival. I was surprised when denied - I just needed to use a clean bathroom and grab a soda water. Came on here to see if anyone had experienced the same. Disappointing for sure!

As an extra data point...

Arrived in Melbourne mid-morning on Saturday 27th Feb. My guest and I were allowed in with no drama. I think the staff member was distracted by my colleague fumbling for his boarding pass instead of looking at the computer screen showing we had no connecting flight.

We were very glad as we had a near 5hr wait until our international check-in opened.

Is this a recent experience? If so, when and what port? Were you given a reason for being denied one of your published benefits?

Jennifer?

This intrigued me! Please explain
QF from CBR connecting to SQ from MEL. Thankfully our bags were able to be checked through but we had to wait 5 hours in Melbourne before we were able to collect boarding passes for our SQ flights.

Having our bags tagged through and arrival access to the Qantas lounge after our domestic flight certainly beat waiting around for check-in to open.

I just accessed the BNE Lounge on arrival. No issues. Inflight I had a cancelled / rebooked flight notification and I wanted to try to fix it.

Had no issues accessing QF lounge on arrival at both CBR & SYD airports on 26/02. QF Platinum here

No issues in SYD again and BNE (again, testing just for people on this thread as I never use it otherwise!)

Lounges are definitely getting busier over last few weeks!

This morning I had little problem accessing the QP on arrival into BNE.

BP scanned, the light went green, but then was advised I had to do the QP QR code thing as it seems their systems only track departures.

Accessed the SYD Business lounge as a WP on arrival from BNE and brought one guest. No issues, just showed my digital BP and was welcomed and waived through.

I was asked to check in to the ServiceNSW app when accessing SYD J on 20 Mar.
Yes, but it sounded like they showed a digital BP and perhaps on that occasion the attendant mistakenly thought they were a departure BP and weren’t asked to log in using a contact tracing QR code.

Some friends flew Jetstar on Sunday morning and accessed the arrivals lounge in SYD and apparently the lounge wasn't very busy.

I think everyone can calm down now, world order on lounge access is restored and maybe this thread should be closed 😂

Can I please stop testing arrivals access for the forum now 😂 especially for those who don’t even seen to be travelling at the moment! ;)
