I guess I am part of the 5% then.

Yes - the 5% is largely made up of AFF SG/WP/P1 & CLs (if we have any), who are all sipping on real champers, closer to the C gates at EK's renovated space. The balance are running late because someone said you can always get a cab without a problem in Singapore, but then it started raining.

It's from Champagne. And is better then the $8 Australian sparkling that is served in most QF lounges

Or sadly sparkling from USA that has been grandfathered. And hence called Champagne. It isn't.

Griselda has penned a letter to that Walsh chap urging him not to get into any sort of deal with Qantas in Singapore. I fear the tranquility of the CCR Bar might be shattered by an influx in Qantas P1 types. #shudder#

:p

Doesn't have a choice under said oneworld agreement

Yes it is bad enough you will have to put up with my presence!

Be afraid. We are gathering our thongs (footware for you) in preparation!

Concord Room/Bars, Arrivals lounges and the new AA Flagship dinning rooms are not part of the oneworld agreement. The QR lounges in LHR and DOH have different arrangements.

We have the best wine in Australia. I'll end my argument there.

I can only hope that with QF flying long haul out of Perth, that they will use the WA premium brands to prove that not only could WA build submarines as well as SA, but that the SA wines still have come catching up to do with the WA items.:shock::mrgreen:

I'd still prefer that UL highlights the evenly split distance on MEL-CMB-LHR as as opposed to long/short of QF (and others). Alas PER-CMB probably will not be seen in my lifetime.

Just wandering

Fred

Agree with the UL comment. Last month we flew Heathrow - Colombo - Adelaide (via HK) and jet lag was really minimal.

Yes, yes, yers!,I never abandoned the real Kangaroo route, but half credits on the Asia and Europe legs, going via Cathay mostly, was a pain in the a. Singapore hubs to anywhere in SE Asia, and I like my status credits, so will go back to QF metal, all else being equal. Told em it was stupid in the first place (in a post somewhere). Feel vindicated!

Qantas will re-route its daily Sydney-London A380 service via Singapore rather than Dubai and upgrade its existing daily Melbourne-Singapore flight from an A330 to an A380. As previously announced, Qantas’ existing Melbourne-Dubai-London service will be replaced with its Dreamliner service flying Melbourne-Perth-London. A detailed summary of the changes, including effective dates, is provided at the end of this release. Customer demand for flights between Australia and Dubai will remain well served by the 77 weekly services that Emirates operates from five cities – Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney – including seven daily A380 flights. Qantas passengers will still be able to fly on Emirates to Dubai, where they have access to over 60 onward connections on Emirates to Europe, the Middle East and Africa. And Adelaide misses out again! No direct flights to anywhere overseas with Qantas metal from Adelaide.
