QFF Award CX flight confirmed and then wait listed, what are my next steps?

If I have an e-ticket number for my CX flights (PER-HKG then HKG-BKK) but the HKG-BKK still says "Waitlisted" am I still in trouble? I've been calling Qantas every day and their response is they can see it confirmed in their system so I am so confused.

Ask them to check their current status of the leg. They should offer to lodge a reinstatement with Cathay. That’s where the rest of are at, waiting on Cathay.

I called Qantas Customer Care, I found them more helpful than the 131313 number.

@Wiki said US means unsellable. Are you able to give @jaseb some more info?

This whole sale has been a mess if you ask me.
Yes, that’s what the Qantas girl said. But I don’t know if she knew what she was talking about. Someone else I’ve been speaking to has a status code of U and is waitlisted.

Where can I check my PNRs status code? I can’t find anything on CMT or RJ. Mine only shows Waitlisted

Mine doesn't have a code next to Waitlisted too.

Anyway, thanks for the tips guys. I managed to have the agent look at the individual legs and they confirmed it's pending on their side too despite having an e-ticket. So she put me on hold, talked to Cathay's contact centre and was told Qantas have to send an email to OneWorld to confirm the booking. Another 48 hours wait I guess.

I'm watching this. Booked PER-HKG-LHR on CX in August in J. Booked it on Friday.

Points deducted, taxes charged. I have a confirmation number and an 081 ticket number, but it's showing in the QF app as "Waitlisted". Confirmation number not working on CX.

Have emailed [email protected] - I'll see if anything comes from it. Interestingly CMT lists the booking as "Qantas.com Awards" - and gives a phone number - 02 9691 3636

Looks like something funny is happening on Qantas's end, I requested my itinerary to be sent out to me again, the e-ticket shows status still as Confirmed. But when I request my itinerary from RJ it shows the first leg as "waitlisted".

@Blackswan - I noticed that too and that number is for their Head Office in Mascot, weird!

Wiki - Thats awesome - hope ours all clear soon. Qantas were nice enough to refund me the points for my wasted cancelled and rebooked PE flights though - so kudos to them

I have a oneworld RTW itinerary and I have my CX flight from PER to HKG cancelled on me for my october trip and they put me on next day (not ticketed), however, I am not going to make my connecting flight from HKG to LHR on BA flight. I emailed to escalation team but still no reply. Do you think I should start calling Qantas? Reason why I am still holding off calling them is I don't want them to further stuff up my flights.

Now I just checked on CX website and found out that several of my other legs are showing not ticketed.. which is weird. It says my BA flight is cancelled as well. CheckMyTrip app is not showing e ticket numbers since updated to the new one.

Any advice people?

I mean, you can jump up and down all you want but I really think that you’re going to struggle to get traction from QF in this situation. The way I see this particular situation with the CX flights booked on Friday, is very much like a error fare/mistake fare type situation, rather than the usual QR cancels because QF did not ticket on time situation.

It seems perhaps during the frenzy on Friday there was some error in communication between the QF servers and the GDS, which may have led to seats being ‘available’, but not in real time perhaps. So even though they created the reservation, CX have decided to cancel it.

Ultimately the responsibility in this situation really falls with CX deciding to cancel it, not QF. You could jump up and down, but to be honest I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Also re: waitlist, yes you can waitlist with asiamiles

No.

The responsibility falls on Qantas for failing to have a fit for purpose electronic ticketing system. In issuing a confirmed booking for a ticket, that means a person is entitled to conclude and rely on that representation that they have a valid confirmed booking. If that is not the case, the passenger is entitled to sue Qantas for breach of contract and for engaging in misleading or deceptive conduct.

UPDATE
Booking now showing in Cathay app and Waitlist remove from Qantas app!!!
Good luck everyone
FYI, no email confirmation, just had to keep checking the app.
That’s great news! When did Qantas put in your CX reinstatement request? Sounds like they must be going through a couple of them.

I put mine in last Friday, fingers crossed it comes through soon! Shame the bassinet seat is already taken on my flight

I spoke to one girl who was useless on Saturday and suspect she did nothing. Monday and Tuesday I had two other day they will request a reinstatement. I also emailed [email protected] and filled out a complaint form online.. so take a pick?

I’m not sure about CX, but when we flew Qantas, the bassinet seats have to be manually assigned.
Also, the bassinet in Business on our Qantas flight was a hole at the front where the pyjamas and blankets were kept. Lucky for us there was a spare seat so we were able to put the baby on her own flatbed.

anyone else got their tickets issued? Still awaiting for my 3 x CX J tickets to be issued. Got PNR/e-ticket numbers. Tried sending email to escalations and FB messenger but still not resolved yet :(

Also, where can I find information to confirm that once a e-ticket number has been issued, QF is bound by it (i.e. convention etc)
