QFF Bonus Status Credits/Points gift on back of Aug 2023 profit

I selected the 75 SCs yesterday and today it showed up in my account. The date shown both in the app and the website is today's date (August 25). Maybe somewhere in the backend it shows the date selected, but I would be surprised if Qantas didn't honour those status credits on the day they appeared. Certainly in calling Qantas you could make an argument that they should appear in your account for the new year since they appeared on the first day of the year. I do, however, find it very underhanded for the promotion to end on the 30th. There are clearly some people who would greatly benefit from having the bonus points post the next program year as it would give them a head start and incentive to fly more to earn status.

The date on the left (that you are seeing) is the posting date.

The date of the activity is not shown for all types, but for flights it is shown in the text. I think a pervious version of the website showed both dates for all activity types.

The only way to see the activity date for this was to open the developer tab (F12 in Chrome) and look at the API response, which has the raw data sent from QF when querying your account. Might be beyond most so take my word for it, the date is not the date it posts.

You can argue all you like but it's well established that points/SCs take effect from the date of the activity, not the date they were posted. If SCs post in a new membership year for a flight that occurred in the previous, they will be wiped immediately after posting. It's happened to me recently.

I don't understand what the issue is.
Don't download the app and don't get the points or credits, like the company cares.
Claim process? Literally pressing a few buttons.
Downloading apps doesn't take long. Maybe less than 20 seconds.
Don't know what Rex has got to do with anything.
cracking good answer. lots of lemon sucking ne'er do well writers here today and yesterday. probably tomorrow, too.

Oh. We were upgraded. Then whilst seated and waiting for departure we were told to exit the plane and speak to a Qantas Executive who then told us we were downgraded and handed new boarding pass back in y. For two young blokes who were not pilots nor crew but techies.

Retained Gold today with the 75 status credits but just another reminder of the big jump required to get to Platinum 😅

I took the 1000 points. The 30 status credits aren’t going to help my status with QANTAS much. I guess flying a bit more might help. Thanks QANTAS for the extra points.

have way too many points
Not possible. You can never have too many points!
I will be offered 1,000 points worth about $10 maybe if I can get a flight that I want, and if I spend how long downloading an ap I dont want and then spend how long in the claim process
Welcome to AFF @GeoffBeaumont , long may you post! Your points' value will depend on how you use them.

I know people that don't want a bar of frequent xx_ programs. Good on them. They pay for the points value anyway, and the points cost is held down for the players.
bAlt got the 75/5000 and all of his flying was on rewards seats booked by me
So bAlt is ready to become a points (or status) lemming, like the rest of us?
