Sadly I only seem to get the new, very green agents whenever I'm connected to AKL. I've even suffered a few of the dreaded disconnections whenever I've asked for something slightly complicated. It always frustrates me that even though they know who I am and have my contact details, they never call back. Never.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that many seats being released, irrespective of available inventory. I may be wrong, but it seems like a big ask.
The algorithm is vague, but I would say less than zero chance.
Business Class? I note you mentioned this was in July, school holidays, if you're talking about the same release...
we were offered business class but we declined as it was a lot of points - and the flight was only 6 hours and yes school holidays - economy tickets are around the $2000 mark each so thought we'd ask for classic seats to be released. Was very dubious that 4 would be released
In economy? Not 100% sure but it's possible this would have needed Q class availability to release due to it being the domestic leg of an international flight, unlike domestic flights that require N.
What does the availability say?
