QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

The agent doesn't do pricing until after the seats are released, however they do ask whose account they will come from. So if it's an instant transfer you should be okay to do so after they confirm availability.

That said I've never tried a request without having the points available.

Thanks for that! Managed to get seats on QF2 in J released for Feb 6. Showing I7 on EF. Two other dates were rejected 7/2 I5 & 8/2 I5. Transferred points overnight and confirmed booking today.

I know it’s theoretically possible from reading this thread although in the experience of people here, how easy is it to add a leg to an existing classic rewards booking by way of a request?

For example, if I booked LHR-HKG as a classic reward and called back a few weeks later to request HKG-SYD to be opened up as part of that same ticket, is it an easy request or will it take a bit of HUACA?

EDIT: Misread your question initially. It's fairly straightforward and you shouldn't need to HUACA unless you get a really bad agent.

That far out, I would have thought you'd be needing a sea of nines to get half a chance.
Was worth a shot given there was a bit of I and it was a mid week date.

There’s something a little odd going on with QF J availability for September 2025. I can find plentiful J availability on routes that provide me a gateway into Europe (like HKG, ICN, BLR etc) right up until 31 August. Then I can’t see anything 1 September and beyond even where it’s within 353 days.

Not sure if it’s related, but the Women’s Rugby World Cup is on around that time in England?

QF1 SYD-SIN - mid/late Dec 2024 - F9 A9 - rejected
Not too surprising considering the time of year, haha.
First time I've called QF to try a release, seems pretty straightforward from the sounds of it.

Not sure if that fully explains it. It might for the lack of I on QF1/2 and maybe even QF33/34. However, for example, seeing (some) I fare availability on QF5/6 (FCO) into September but on the other hand nothing on QF127/128 (HKG) and QF87/88 (ICN). It’s a complex beast…

QF don't tend to release F on SYD-SIN legs of QF1/2, as it makes it pretty hard to sell F for just SIN-LHR/LHR-SIN. Anecdotally, you'd have better chances of getting F on SYD-LHR.
