Question about the forum software

It appears to be affecting only random members. They only show on my New Posts page until I try to open them. After that, they gone just like any other read message.

Certainly didn't work like this for me. I only got rid of them following the directions of one JohnK.

Will have a look what happens when the next one comes out.

Didn't you guys try my suggestion from post #233?

It does work!
Thanks John, It does work ...

I did not have the opportunity to check it out until this morning. :p

Oz_mark and serfty, glad to hear that my workaround has helped. :D

OK, next question. :)

What happened to the "mark this forum as read" button? I don't get around to reading everything on the forums so I used this button occasionally before logging off so that upon my next visit, the "new posts" button was a bit more user-friendly.

I've looked around, but I can't find a way to mark the forums as read. :(

When you are in a forum, there is a link called Forum Tools, click on this, then you will get the option

Thanks oz_mark.

So the option to mark all forums as read is now gone?

Regarding the Community Newsletter Forum:

I have decided to delete the Forum as I know that it was causing problems for some people. Also wasn't adding much value - you should be receiving the Newsletter by email anyway (unless you have opted out of receiving it or its caught up in your "spam filters").

Toward the bottom of the forum home page (http://www.frequentflyer.com.au/community/), at the end of the table that lists all the fourms there is a link that says Mark Forums Read. Not having tried it, I assume that it would mark all the forums read.

BTW I just got an email with this weeks updates and it does not appear in my New Posts list :)

Well that explains why I don't see it :) Must have been composing our messages at the same time....

I've started to receive duplicate notifications for subsribed threads too.

Beat me to it. I have been getting duplicates for subscribed threads as well.

I only got the weekly email once though.

While on the subject of emails, once upon a time I seem to remember the AFF gazette being emailed as well. I have not had an email about this for a few months.

I've just received 4 x Australian Frequent Flyer Community Bulletin emails.
Me too...

They were sitting in my inbox this morning, all postmarked July 14th with times of 6:09, 6:12, 6:21 & 6.24. ...

We had a slight problem this morning with our server, just as the Community Bulletin newsletter was being distributed. I knew that some people received the newsletter twice (shouldn't have been 4 times though  )

Apologies - hopefully, won't happen again!

Four times? I feel so ripped off.
Yep, pretty close to serfty's times: 6:10, 6:13, 6:22 and 6:24am.

I guess that those with names starting later in the alphabet get their emails a little slower. A bit like the way Qantas seat allocations work.

I got mine at 6:04 and 6:16 (well for me it was 4:04 and 4:16 :) ).

Not sure how they fit into the order of things!
