The forum software is really going nuts now. I just received 9 email notifications for one response that was made in the thread 'Argh! I've joined Velocity! Am I wasting my time?'. :shock:

This shouldn't be happening. I know we had a problem yesterday morning when some people received 2 copies of the Community Bulletin. But as far as I can tell that was a localised problem and has no impact on email notifications. I only receive one email notification when I receive a PM.

admin - I only received one PM for the message you sent to me, so it is not happening consistently.

The 9 email notifications I received were for a reply to a thread, not for a PM. I have emailed these to you, and also the 4 newsletters that I received. I have deleted the multiple emails that I received for an earlier PM, sorry.

Anyway, hope this helps.

Perhaps the cookies are not going stale and the system just thinks people are still using the site long after they have gone to bed?

Transient system failure. I think the previous high total of 175 users online in January 2005 is also related to the same issue. The highest number of users I have seen online in 15 months is ~40.

I think the January 2005 figure is correct. It was in the lead up to the May 2005 devaluation and AFF had been reported widely in the press.

I got a surprise when I hit reply (to another thread) just now. The look changed considerably between hitting the button and bringing up the reply box.

So waddaya think about it? Its quite different. Its good to see things are continualy evolving around here and keeping us on our toes .

My first impression is that I like it. But have yet to hunt around all the options and links.

Its like hunting foxes ... the fun is in the challenge . And since this is a FF community, we could always say that a change is as good as a hoiliday :shock:.

Personally I do not like it.

One reason is that by having a user's/poster's/handle banner above every post rather than beside the post makes each page sooo much longer for every post and hence requires far more scrolling to effectively view!

I assume Clifford likes it...
