Actually, he was raised to 10* status today, courtesy of his knowledge of a particular frequent guest program and what I have been able to obtain from it.

Now to find an appropriate avatar for the 9* DSN. Any suggestions?

How high can the * rating go? Is there a limit?

Rather than keep track of the the number I simply use "n

DSN".

Why are you wanting to "view all posts by NM"? The profile page shows the number of posts as well as the average posts/day.

He just wanted to see how often you make typing errors in your posts which then required an additional post to correct original error.

This factor is very important in calculating when you reach 2,000 posts. :?

8) I was trying analyse Wacky Wednesday & Manic Monday with respect to post counts of individuals. Especially for one nearing 2,000 post.

Did you know that one erudite poster here posted 18 times between 4:30PM and 5:45PM on WW.

There's another couple of members (IainF and Press Photog) who are also current converts to the dsn unequaled knowledge on frequent guest and flyer programs.

The latest * was earned with a frequent guest program tip...those that attend the AFF get-together might find out. IainF already has been briefed and is very interested in using it as well. He doesn't know all of it yet...more to come :wink:

Anyone work out what it is with the cookies that causes a computer to think it is logged out of AFF and constantly asks for user id & password?

I am using computer in motel and have to log on for every post even though AFF shows me as logged in.

I would suggest that it is something out of your control.

Two causes spring to mind:

* The computer you are using does not save cookies and thus the cookie is never used, but FF still knows you by your session.
* The computer uses a load balanced proxy server and thus you have a different session for each posting attempt.

These answers might be too technical, but it's too late at night for me to want to convert them into anything non-technical. Maybe tomorrow I will

I don't know what causes it, but I have gone through patches where this keeps happening to me.

I am in SIN airport and the free internet is better than last visit here in Dec/Jan.

Posts are accepted on first submit but still get logged out after every post.

OK, a gremlin has got into my computer.

In the past when viewing a topic on AFF everything used to fit into my browser unless someone used a weird url at which point I needed to use the horizontal scroll bar to get to the quote, edit and delete buttons.

Today I have to use the horizontal scroll bar on all topics even on one's that don't use url's.

What settings have I stuffed up. My computer did freeze earlier and the only way to stop it was to switch it off. Any ideas?

I am having the same problem.

I normally select the "Favorites" / "Bookmarks" pane (to the left of the main browser window), made available via the "explorer bar" or "side bar" menu or pressing ctrl+I. I now need to close it to view the browser winder properly. Otherwise I have the same problems as JohnK.

This happens with both firefox and IE.

I am having the same problem.

This is getting a little unbearable using the scroll bar all the time.

We did make a small change to the software earlier today. The new format requires your screen resolution to be set to 1024 x 768 pixels (a fairly common standard these days) to get the full screen without the need for the scrollbar.

Anyway, I've just made another modification. Hopefully that will correct things.
