ZL821 (VH-SBA, 0630 hours early morning from DBO to SYD) took off at 0700 but is not arriving until about 0815, in lieu of 0740.

ZL3257 from WGA to MEL should pull in at 0903, 63 late with VH-EKD.

ZL3752 from MGB to MEL is similarly afflicted with arrival likely at 0913, 68 minutes behind schedule for VH-ZLA.

On Friday 16 December, ZL517 from PKE to SYD took off at 0654, not overly late compared with its timetabled departure of 0630, but will arrive at its SYD apron spot at 0755, half an hour behind. Aircraft is VH-RXS, a ubiquitous (for REX) SAAB 340B.

Saturday 17 December sees the 0630 from BWT to MEL, ZL3554 (SAAB340B ZH-EKX) having taken off at 0703 hours. Arrival is forecast for 0825, 40 minutes behind schedule.

On Monday 26 December, ZL3493 (1640 hours late afternoon from MIM to MEL) took off at 1736. SAAB 340B VH-EKX is expected to arrive about 63 minutes tardy at 18908 early this evening.

The storms that hit MEL (and Melbourne suburbs) around 1500 hours on Thursday 29 December have led to many delays and some cancellations.

ZL3682, the 1625 hours MEL to MQL that took off at 1802 hours (SAAB 340B VH-RXX) should arrive at around 1938, 113 minutes behind schedule.

Mid evening on Sunday 15 January 2017, ZL937 from MQL to SYD, the 1750 hours scheduled offering took off at 1920. Arrival of SAAB340B VH-VNA should be 83 minutes late at 2123.

On Tuesday 7 February 2017, a day of extremely heavy rainfall in Sydney though not in Melbourne, ZL3418, the 1005 hours scheduled arrival in MEL ex MIM did not arrive until about 1420 hours.

On Friday 11 February, ZL382, the 1830 hours SYD - NTL (SAAB340B VH-EKD) was timetabled to arrive at 1915 but at 1928 was stuck in a long queue of aircraft waiting to take off from runway 16L.

This is the classic waste of a slot at a peak period that ideally should be removed from ZL and reallocated, with passengers easily able to drive or travel on the quite frequent NSWTrainLink intercity trips that arrive and depart from Sydney Terminal (or 'Central' as it has all become to the general public.) There's the small matters of history and perhaps slot purchase to contend with, and perhaps politics, but having a small aircraft travel such a minor distance when aircraft with much greater lkength sectors to make are queuing and wasting fuel doing so makes little economic sense.

ZL783 (VH-PRX), the 1815 hours SYD - ABX took off at 1943 on 16R, three minutes after it was due in Albury.

There was an intense but possibly brief storm cell that passed over SYD at about 1730 hours on Sunday 12 February 2017.

ZL472, the 1640 hours from GFF took off only about 10 minutes late at 1705 but due to being placed in a holding pattern is not expected to arrive until about 1836, 36 minutes late (SAAB340B VH-ZLA), while ZL629 from BHS to SYD, the 1655 that was airborne at 1733 should pull in at roughly 1853, 68 minutes late in the shape of VH-ZLG.

ZL674 from WGA up to SYD should arrive at 1851, 31 late with VH-ZRL.

ZL3257 from WGA down to MEL on Thursday 16 February is arriving at 0854, 54 minutes late with SAAB340B VH-EKD.

ZL3752 from MGB to MEL is slightly worse with arrival predicted for 0907 hours, 62 minutes late. VH-ZLJ has the task.

With the afternoon severe storms in Sydney on Friday 17 February, ZL178 from SYD to OAG has not done too badly with this scheduled 1615 hours flight having taken off at 1656. Arrival of SAAB340B VH-ZLF should be at 1745, 40 minutes late.

Carryover from this afternoon's Sydney storms is continuing, with ZL983, the 1735 ARM - SYD (SAAB340B VH-KRX) having become airborne at 1953; arrival is expected at 2138, two minutes short (178 minutes) of three hours late, a very slow point-to-point flight.

The 0845 hours Saturday 18 February ZL3557 from MEL down to BWT is expected to depart about two hours late. This is due to ZL3752 from MGB showing as arriving at about 1030 instead of 0805.

Monday 20 February sees ZL3653, the 0630 early morning MQL - MEL that took off ahead of time at 0633 delayed due to 'traffic, with arrival of SAAB340B VH-ZLX likely at 0821, 31 minutes tardy.

ZL3258 (VL-ZXG), the 0900 hours MEL - WGA took off at 0937, with arrival suggested as 1041, 31 minutes late.

ZL623 (VH-ZXK), the 1000 BHS - SYD was not airborne until 1153 with arrival suggested as 1232 hours, 102 late.

ZL825 (VH-EKH) on the 0945 hours DBO - SYD that took off at 1135 is arriving at around 1233 instead of 1055, 98 minutes behind schedule.

ZL3763 (0835 hours MEL across the border to MGB, SAAB340A VH-EKD) took off at 0913. Arrival should be at around 0949, 34 minutes tardy.

AFF member Flyerqf advised us in the QF delays thread that on part of the morning of Saturday 25 February, urgent SYD runway maintenance was required.

Possibly as a result, ZL375 from Taree and NTL is arriving in SYD at about 1230 instead of 1145 while ZL466 from Narrandera and GFF is about 55 minutes late with arrival suggested as 1240.

The start of the working week, Monday 27 February 2017 sees ZL3155, the 0655 ABX - MEL that did not become airborne until 0740 hours (SAAB340B VH-RXN) likely to arrive at 0832, 37 minutes tardy.

On Thursday 2 March, ZL821 (the 0630 hours DBO - SYD, SAAB340B VH-OLL) did not take off until 0725 hours, so arrival is suggested as 0831, 51 minutes late.

ZL353, the short hop flight from TRO to NTL that is timetabled to depart at 0630 (VH-ZXK) took off at 0730 and as at 0828 was in a holding pattern off the coast near NTL. Arrival should be at about 0840, 95 minutes late. More convenient and quicker to drive if bound for the Newcastle CBD!

The early morning 0630 hours ABX - SYD on Friday 3 March, ZL762 (SAAB340B VH-ZRM) did not become airborne until 0730. As a result arrival should be at around the -846 matrk which would be 51 minutes behind schedule.

Saturday 4 March has ZL3656, the 0815 hours MEL - MQL (SAAB340B VH-ZXG) not having taken off until 0915 hours; arrival should be at 1011 instead of 0935.
