Rockfords discussion

A dozen would be a few too many of one wine in that price range for me. As a fanboy I prefer to spread my dozen over it, the cab Shiraz, the cab and the Shiraz or frugal farmer etc
That's what I usually do with at cellar door but the order form is suggesting minimum 12 of anything. Kicking myself for not signing up in person any time in the last 10 years, I might give them a call

Definitely call, you don’t need to order 12 of any one wine

Even as a Stone Wall I'm pretty sure you can't buy a dozen Dry Country Grenache.
I believe 6 is the case quantity and maximum order… can you call me at 11am tomorrow to remind me to call them, and I will check and report back 🤷‍♂️

Correct, 6 is the max for Dry Country- Stonewall only, none for bud burst AFAIK

I've never noticed the dry country grenache available for ordering online. Is it one of those ones you need to ask for specifically? How much are they?

Like some other wines previously, it's meant to be a Stonewaller cellar door only purchase. Due to Covid and folks not being able to visit, they allowed Stonewallers remote access to purchase.

I'm heading to the Barossa next week and pick up any supplies for anyone and keep them until you get to Adelaide (but first you'd have to find my place with my stash of wines) 🤣

You wouldnt even think of saying “ Oh, xx_ said I could use their allocation …”, would you?

Let’s ignore the hard to get / VIP members exclusive marketing for a moment, do you guys think DC is that good? I’ve had it myself and thought it was nice but at $40-50 range there are some really amazing Grenache options out there.

I know the same thing can be said about BP but $75 is not an outrageous price to pay for good Shiraz and it is (as much as I don’t like to use this word) an iconic wine.

I haven’t had that many straight Grenache (and I am an unashamed Rockford fanboy so don’t weight my opinion to heavily) but I think it is. I can only compare it to the Eperosa range (2 off) Vanguardist MGV, Swiney, and Yangarra, I have only tried the Rockford ‘15 and ‘16 DC but I am happy to buy (and have x 3) the ‘17 DC. The extra bottle age on the current DC release could also account for a few extra $ ?

Thought it was good when I tried it, though not particularly memorable or a standout.
