If anyone happens to not be taking up their full allocation of BP, this lowly bud burst would graciously opt to scoop it up (apparently you can send it over to someone else with an account?).
It doesn't bother me but you may get into a spot of bother asking on AFF.

Thanks for pointing it out - happy to remove, didn't realise I contravened any rules. I did just double check then, technically should be fine since I'm not soliciting a trade or sale, just a benefactor gifting their unused allocation. However, might defeat the point of the wider discussion of this thread as I'm sure a lot of people might be interested resulting in a lot of spam.

Heads up for any Stonewallers wanting the half bottles of Basket Press. They expect to sell out this week. So place your order ASAP. No issue with 750ml bottles.

Has anyone tried the latest BP? I have an opportunity to get some for the first time, but am a bit worried after the last couple of reviews on Winefront..

My half bottles arrived this week so will try soon. I love the winefront guys but I find they are a little harsh on the Rockford wines for some reason.

What did they have to say about it? I haven’t tried and of the latest releases besides a tasting at the door for the 2017. But I would recommend the 2017 rifle range if anyone can get their hands on it.

They have the 2017 BP 90 pts, and the 2015 89 pts.

2017 : "A soupy, rich shiraz, soft and a little diffuse, though it seems there’s still plenty to talk about regarding what’s in the glass (and beyond). It doesn’t feel like one of the pedigree BP shiraz releases, more high volume wine than high grade, laden with blueberry and purple plum fruit, tobacco-woody notes, lemony scents and a tangy-bitter-lemony-thin-dry finish with this nagging feel of ‘is it missing some stuffing?’"

They gave the 2017 RR 96 pts.

2018 BP back feeling some love on TWF:

This 2018 seems like something of a return to form for Rockford BP, at least for my tastes, and maybe a little more like the wines from days of yore.

Red and black fruit, a little walnut, some vanilla/cedar oak, and rosy perfume. It falls more to medium-bodied, has freshness, nutty and savoury flavours, but with brightness of fruit. Tannin offers a gentle grip and graininess, and the finish has fragrance and good length. A very good release. Classic Rockford style. Good to see.

Rated : 94+ Points

2018 RR was given 95 points, Moppa Springs 93 points

2020 Frugal Farmer and 2016 Vintage Port sold out!

That's a bugger about the port! I'm there tomorrow for the Stonewaller lunch and probably would have picked up a bottle. Oh well. I'm sure I'll spend the money on something else :)

What did you think of the lunch? I had one booked for September but had to cancel obviously so hopefully get to my first one next year sometime.

I thought it was excellent. It was well run with excellent food. Wine serves were generous too. The company wasn't too shabby either.
Nice, sounds great. I was going to take a few friends who are big drinkers - do you think they just keep topping you up or is there the option to pay for more wine? I'd be happy to pay for more but interested to get an idea on volumes. To give you an idea, these guys would easily fly through 2+ bottles each over a 3 hour sitting.

It's not a piss up. I think if you're taking mates to get loaded, you're taking them to the wrong kind of lunch. I'd say this is more on the refined side, there to enjoy and appreciate the wines rather than get legless and rowdy.

There were 12 guests and I'm guessing two bottles of each wine opened. There was an initial pour (probably a 150ml pour), followed by a top up of 100ml to 150ml.

Ha, they're not rowdy - far from it. I don't think being big drinkers always equates to being a yobbo. They just enjoy drinking good wine.
