I did have one and really liked it. Can't remember the name but think it also seared? Just one of the usual brands. It was quite large so when I downsized I donated it. Never had any explosions

Mum used one on the farm all the time - soups stews etc. I'm sure the pressure cooker was fine but the product was never great. She wasn't a great cook except for biscuits!!

I dont want the electric ones with menu buttons - just a "dumb" one i can use on the induction stove

Buffalo makes large ones 30L but discontinued the 21L and 16L in the same design but they have a 20L and 15L with bakelite handles - though can't get in AU. Ill try Amazon.

IIRC the recommendation is not to fill the pot up to the top. Maybe halfway so the presssure relief valve does not get blocked by debris ?

I have a Silit stove top one that is good and has done the job its supposed, to but I don't use is much and would not class myself as "into pressure cookers..."

I have been looking at a big pressure cooker for canning - taking price out of the equation, everything I find points to the All American ones that don't need a rubber/silicone seal.

Ive seen those but they are Aluminium so can't be used on Induction stove.

I remember having a super fancy kettle for - boiling water. Pain in the butt. Went to the electrical store and asked for one that just boiled water to replace it. Better.

Apparently we are getting a "retro" Smeg temperature selectable kettle. Im pretty sure water only boils at 100⁰C but apparently not..

option for separate/individual halves is versatile, but how often needed? is using a silicone liner difficult?​

Ive actually used the two halves on separate settings at the same time probably 50% of the time. Often sides need a different temp or duration than the protein.

Very happy with the purchase and as everything is non stick, haven't had the need for any silicone mats.

Sorry, can't afford it. My wallet is hurting after having just bought a new Dyson Gen5 Detect Complete + a Wash G1. Remains to be seen whether the Wash G1 stays or gets returned to Dyson, but I'm confident the vacuum is here to stay.
