I've been there many times when there was no self serve wine. But they are right ("they are put out as soon as there are enough guests") and it's been quiet times that I'm talking about.

JQd flights tend to depart at quiet times.

Ok...so I just rang the first lounge in Melbourne...took me 2 seconds, and asked them if the wines are available for self serve every day, and her response was that yes, every single day !...no exception...and often they are put out as soon as there are enough guests, so from the early hours......so your perception that they were not out was incorrect. Well that's definitely not been the case in a couple occasions when I've been there. But then again at those times there were only 5-10 people in the lounge so maybe there weren't enough guests? So you would be incorrect in your assumption that self serve wine is "always" available.

No, it's NOT incorrect. Your repeated insinuation that Ansett is untruthful is getting close to <being very unhelpful>, IMHO.

The person who took your call was probably answering to the best of their knowledge, but its simply not the case.

Would you mind telling us what experience you have in F lounges? This will assist us in understanding your unique perspective.

FWIW - Definitely no RSA restrictions in The Wing in HKG - Veuve is flowing like the Yangtze in spring time! Flt delayed 90mins also - I may well be RAShayed by the time I board.

Yep. I've even asked the staff why there is no self serve wine (and snacks) out. And they have told me that they want it to all to be fresh and so take it away when there are few guests. I'm not sure why the wine needs to stay so fresh, but that's the reason they gave.

Perhaps because, like many have reported, it's actually not true. Do you need a photo? And I've asked why too. Face to face in the lounge. The answer is a post ago.

Try real experience vs what some staffer told you over the phone. Also you presented it as fact, which makes you wrong as multiple people have demonstrated.

Hmmm. It amazes you that so very few people were aware that they (self serve drinks) have always been available while you were in the lounge?

Sorry, are you famous, that we should know of your past experiences in the lounge? Is there a twitter feed we should follow where we will know what's there when you are in the lounge.

That's just it. Your experience. Just because it has always been available when you are there doesn't mean that others have same experience. In the same vein, just because you haven't been RSAd doesn't mean it hasn't happened to others.

A couple of points. Firstly the words that weren't your words did not say that self serve was always available.

B) your experience does not match the words that you reported that were not your words

And 3) the words you reported agree with other experiences that self serve is not always available

I guess from that we can conclude that you've always been lucky to be there at the self service time. Well done.
