Scams like these

Had my first opportunity to try out the new welcome today when I received a call from Bangalore.
"Herods House of Sssin"
"Excuse me I am from Tesltra..."
"Herods House of Sssin".....
Click. One of the quickest results I have had to date. Life's dull, play a little. ;)

I have got into the habit recently of when I get a call from a hidden number, I answer silently, not saying anything. I don't hear anything from the other end either.

After 3 to 5 seconds the call generally disconnects.

(Only once have I had someone I knew on the other end of the line - they started talking after about 10 seconds.)

I have started doing the same. Robocall generally gets disconnected after a second or two. However today got someone from the subcontinent started talking without prompting. Put the phone on the table and let them read from their script and then beep beep...

When I get a phone call selling me something or other, I just reply with "This is the emergency services. What is the nature of the emergency?"

They don't stay on the line for long.

On my phone i have created Telemarketer 1 through to 20, and just add the numbers randomly, with the "All calls to voicemail" ticked. Never have any more calls from those numbers.
