Scoot Delays/Cancellations

On Wednesday 14 December, TZ26 is estimated to arrive in MEL at about 1420 hours instead of 1115. This flight originates in SIN. Its return will be similarly delayed. 9V-OFA is the B788.

Friday 16 December 2016 sees TZ1 (1215 hours MEL to SIN) not having taken off until 1400 hours; arrival of B788 9V-OFD should be at 1840 hours, 80 minutes late.

Some distance northeast, TZ1, the flagship flight,l is tracking from SYD to SIN. This 1330 hours-scheduled departure (B789 9V-OJC) was airborne at 1431; arrival is predicted for 1944, 54 minutes tardy tonight.

Scoot has been experiencing much tardy running to and from Australia in the last few days with Sunday 18 December no exception. TZ1 from SIN to SYD should arrive at 1555 this arbo instead of 1230 as it did not take off from SIn until 0545 hours despite a timetabled departure of 0145. This would have been a wait not enjoyed by many passengers at 0300 despite Changi's carpet, greenery and upholstered seats. It would be especially gruelling if one was travelling with cranky young children.

TZ25 from MEL to SIN, the 1215 hours did not take off until 1405; arrival of B789 9V-OJB is not expected until 1842, 107 minutes late.

While it may not be every day, Scott continues to have some shockingly late flights.

On Thursday 24 December, TZ26, the 0040 hours SIn - MEL did not take off until 1006 hours. Even in the pleasant Changi Airport environment with a few recliner chairs if you can snag one, spending an additional eight hours away from a normal bed would not be everyone's favoured cup of tea. B789 9V-OJA should arrive at 1957 tonight instead of 1115 this morning - a staggering 522 minutes tardy.

Christmas Day sees TZ26 from SIN to MEL (B789 9V-OJC) again extremely badly late, having arrived instead of its scheduled 1115 hours at about 2007, making it 532 minutes tardy.

The return flight (TZ25) was timetabled to depart at 1215 but has taken off at approximately 2130 hours tonight.

On Boxing Day, TZ26 from SIN to MEL was again late, landing at about 1300. TZ25 back from MEL to SIN should depart at about 1400 as compared to its scheduled pushback at 1215. Once again the B789 is 9V-OJC.

Wednesday 28 December sees TZ6, the overnight from SIN to OOL (B789 9V-OJD) likely to arrive at 0928 hours, 78 minutes late. The scheduled 0910 hours TZ5 back from OOL to SIN should, if all goes well, depart at around 1040.

B788 9V-OFE on TZ26, the redeye from SIN to MEL should arrive on Friday 30 December at approximately 1219, 64 minutes late. The returning TZ25 will be adversely affected in respect of punctuality.

B789 9V-OJF on the Saturday 31 December 2016 TZ1 (1330 hours SYD - SIN) took off at a very late 1913 hours. Arrival should be at 2352, 302 minutes tardy, continuing Scoot's unimpressive recent record.

9V-OJB on the 1310 hours SIN - PER (TZ8) was airborne at 1717, so arrival is forecast as 2152 in lieu of 1810 hours.

Once again Scoot is distinguishing itself with some serious late running. Sunday 1 January 2017 sees TZ25 put back from its timetabled 1215 departure ex MEL to an expected 1630 or so for SIN.

I would like to add that my friend's flight from NRT to SIN via TPE was late by 3 hours yesterday, and missed the NYE party (she wasn't keen on it anyhow). And looking at the flight status, around half of the fleet was at least 3 hours late yesterday.

Awesom, TZ looks to be a JQ clone in as far as both are very unpunctual much of the time.

Maximum utilisation = maximum unpunctuality.

TZ lacks 5J's understandable excuse of extremely crowded MNL airspace and only 40 movements per hour being achieved at that bigger than MEL for passenger numbers airport.

Not a great look for parent SQ, just as JQ is a frequent embarrassment for parent QF if passengers know one is owned by the other.

Scoot's appalling timekeeping is continuing with the scheduled 0145 hours TZ2 Monday 2 January 2017 SIN - SYD (B789 9V-OJC) becoming airborne at 0412 hours. SYD arrival should be at 1427, 117 minutes behind schedule. TZ1, the timetabled 1330 hours SYd back to SIn should depart at about 1530, although Google optimistically claims 1515.

There were times when the entire TZ fleet was at least a few hours late, I don't think JQ long-haul has ever gotten to that point - yet. And whenever I dropped someone off at SIN for a TZ flight, it's late every time with only 1 exception.

Tuesday 3 January has TZ1, the 1330 SYD - SIN expected to instead depart at 1615, continuing Scoot's shocking recent timekeeping.

Thursday 5 january's TZ2 (1045 hours SIN - SYD) took off at a much delayed 0524 hours. B789 9V-OJA should arrive at about 1537 this afternoon, 187 minutes late.

On Friday 6 January 2017, TZ2 from SIN to SYD, the 0145 hours, took off at 0617 with arrival suggested as 1636 instead of 1230 - 246 minutes tardy. Yet another badly delayed Scoot flight to and from Oz.

I understand they are dealing with multiple aircraft out of action, engine change, fuel leaks, waiting on parts etc...

Jetstar has had its fair share of tech mishaps with the 787 over the years. Biggest setback is lack of 787 parts floating around, 2-3 day wait from Boeing.

Sunstar320, I tried to send you a PM but your message box was full.

If you obtain further specifics on how many are inoperable and why please post it. We could of course look up the rego. numbers individually but that takes a while.

Presumably it's a cost issue and also whether airlines need spare parts for X and Y, but having to wait three days must have a huge cost even though LCCs (if not under question from the media, as JQ has been) can basically tell the punters to get --- if a flight is cancelled. With social media, however, this is not good for future bookings.
