Scoot Delays/Cancellations

TZ26 into MEL on Wednesday 11 January (B789 9V-OJB) should arrive at 1156 instead of 1115 hours. This flight originated in SIN.

TZ6 has a late evening departure time of 2225 hours for its SIN - OOL duty tour but on Saturday 14 January it took off at 0025, about an hour and 40 minutes past the allotted. As a result, arrival in OOL should be 110 minutes late at 1000 hours with B789 9V-OJE undertaking the task. As the returning TZ5 is due out of OOL at 0920, expect it instead to depart at about 110, the same number of minutes tardy.

On Sunday 15 January, TZ25, the 1215 hours MEL - SIN has been altered to depart at 1330 (or more realistically 1350) account the late arrival of incoming TZ26. It is again 9V-OFE, arriving MEL at about 1241.

Rolls Royce engine problems getting worse. Singapore to operate for Scoot on selected flights from tomorrow 772s.

Nice bill heading RR way no doubt.

You'd think over 5 years into the 787 program things would start to level out. Other carriers would be watching very closely no doubt.

So if Scoot biz booked then we would get SQ J?:)

Potentially related to the Re-timing of flights on 24 Jan:-

Due to aircraft servicing requirement, TZ 291, originally scheduled to depart Narita for Singapore via Don Mueang on 24 Jan at 9.35am, will be retimed to depart Narita on 25 Jan, at 8.30am and depart Don Mueang on 25 Jan, 2.50pm. Updates will be posted on Scoot’s website and we will be informing affected guests accordingly.

Can't imagine many customers would have been pleased by that, and wonder if any were able to get reaccommodated on SQ.

Thinking like a true frequent flyer ;)

On Friday 10 February 2017, TZ25, the 1215 nicely timed for leisure travellers MEL - SIN did not take off until 1336. B788 9V-OFB will not be at its destination until about 1916, 116 minutes tardy.

On what has been an afternoon of storms affecting Sydney (although not enormous amounts of rain at the airport), TZ1 (B789 9V-OJD), the 1330 hours SYD - SIN did not take off until 2110. Arrival is predicted for 0143 on Saturday 18 February instead of 1850 hours tonight.

Saturday 18 February sees TZ1 (1330 hours SYD - SIN, again B789 9V-OJD) not having become airborne until 1514, with arrival expected at 2021 tonight, 91 late.

Scoot's recent reputation for late flights on its Australia routes is continuing with Saturday 25 February seeing the overnight TZ2 from SIN down to SYD likely to arrive at 1313 hours, 43 late with B788 9V-OFC.

UPDATE: Flyerqf advised us of urgent runway maintenance in SYD for part of 25 February's morning so that has led to congestion in the air; TZ2 should now arrive at about 1323.

The overnight TZ6 from SIN timetabled to arrive in OOL on Friday 3 March at 0810 hours with B789 9V-OJC is about 68 minutes late. TZ5, the 0920 hours back to SIN will therefore be at least 70 minutes late departing from the Gold Coast.

On Saturday 11 March 2017, TZ26 from SIN to MEL is arriving at about 2050 hours instead of 1115. The returning TZ25 is showing as departing at 2150 instead of 1215.

The flyscoot.com website links to their on time performance, with only Aug, Sep and Oct shown (year not stated but presumably 2016).

It would be quite interesting to see current statistics. One has suspicions about their network-wide punctuality, but perhaps their higher frequency intra-Asia operations are more reliable.

They're also transferring SIN-JAI and JAI-SIN to Tigerair from 26 March 2017, though Tigerair is to rebrand to Scoot by the end of 2017.

One AFF member previously pointed out that Scott's network-wide punctuality was poor.

I guess their delay stats are delayed as well...

Their fleet is used across the whole network so intra-Asia flights would have similar delays as the long-haul operations. Every time I have sent off someone (in SIN) for a Scoot flight, it's delayed.

Not delayed, "re-timed".

Good point. And the future rebranding of Tigerair to Scoot may not necessarily be an improvement to their overall average.

Thursday 6 July's TZ8 from SIN down to PER (B789 9V-OJE) took off at a much delayed 1739. Arrival is set for about 2218, 293 minutes later than the timetabled 1725. TZ7, the returning 1835 hours PER departure should be able to commence push back at around the 2330 mark.

Flagship TZ1, the 1230 Friday 7 April 2017 SYD - SIN that took off extremely late at 1649 (B789 9V-OJE) shoud arrive at Changi at 2246 this evening local SIN time, 221 minutes behind schedule.

The Saturday 8 April TZ26 (the 0115 small hours SIN down to MEL, B788 9V-OFB) took off at the dreadful time of 0242 hours - imagine eating a paid meal at 0345 - with likely arrival at 1143, 63 late.

TZ2 from SIN to SYD is also afflicted, with B789 9V-OJB suggested as arriving at around 1321, 111 minutes tardy.

As discussed by AFF member Awesom Andy above, Scoot appears to have a significant problem with timekeeping.

Delay-prone Scoot is at it again with the MEL Good Friday 14 April arrival of B788 9V-OFE on TZ26 ex SIN likely at 1204, 84 minutes behind schedule. The 1200 'high noon' departure of TZ25 ex MEL back to SIN will be delayed until at least 1315.
