Just email Amex. VERY easy to get your $10 back.

Ive been looking for 2 for 1 deals in the ent book to combine with shop small. A few pubs around our area..

Did that. Quick response from AMEX of 'sorry but can't help you.'

I've been enjoying shops small this year and have tried a few restaurants that I usually wouldn't. All of them, however, have charged Amex surcharges. Not the end of the world... But apparently should have been discouraged by Amex.

I've noticed that my Westpac card has stopped triggering the emails. I've done about 8 on that and 3 on my Plat Edge. Anything to be worried about, or is it really hit and miss with the emails? It's been consistent up until the last few

i reported a couple of non-accepting merchants but no offer of anything this year, likely due to my bank issued amex this time

just noticed that the Telstra store in newtown (2043) listed on the shop small map.

Dun mind $10 off my $30 prepaid recharge

couple of pharmacies also listed so might be able to get some cheap presents for the upcoming birthday and christmas season my gran brother gramps are on 3 consecutive days in dec, and my parents share the same birthday just before christmas)

Plenty of stores in Newtown on the map that are good for presents, too ;)

Also, just counted and I'm up to $190 in credits!

Is there an easy way to search for participating merchants? I find the search they have very hard to use in that it always seems to max out at 100 and can rarely find what I'm after. Basically would like to be able to find newsagents in a particular area.

If you know the name of the place, you can search by the name. It's how I do it when I can't filter the results sufficiently - find some merchant names on Google maps, then type them in to see if they're on the Shop Small list.

I read somewhere that if a merchant puts less than 1.3 million through their AMEX merchant facility per year, they are considered "small business" and automatically qualify for this promotion. Between +1 and myself, we have 6 Amex cards to use for this promotion :). Despite our best efforts, I strongly doubt we will get the maximum $600 (6 x $100) back from AMEX ;)

If you use your cards for more mundane stuff like filling up your car, reaching your potential earn (heh at that) shouldn't be _that_ hard. Metro Petroleum are mostly Shop Small friendly but they might slap a 3% surcharge depending on the operator and whether you tell them you're using an Amex.

That assumes that they bill you as that name. One of my favourite examples is the BaaMoo bistro at the Tuggeranong Vikings club. Their receipts say "Dally Pty Ltd", which is how they're listed on the Shop Small map - at Mount Hunter, about 250km away!

Village pharmac_ Upper Mt Gravatt. Not even close to office and then long walk. Don't accept Amex after getting the prescriptions. Paid by cash.

At least the prescriptions were cheaper than usual and saved a few dollars but didn't need to go.

Stopped in at Lindt while I was doing some other shopping. Managed 69 chocolates without pushing the limits, though I reckon I could have fit more in given the girl at the counter didnt seem fussed about the fit of the lid, she just taped it down anyway. 1kg of chocolate for $14 is a win!
