Don't know if this is going to work.....I have a feeling the "household" is the account holder so everyone living at that address has to be linked, though a look through the terms and conditions I have not been able to locate this.

For Velocity Family pooling you must reside at the same address - therefore the "household" and family pooling would be from the one flybuy account.

Would love to be wrong about this however they will be exchanging information with each other and would be very easy to locate people using this loop hole and as Velocity has shown recently - investigate and close down accounts.

I thought that Household referred to the cards linked to a single household account i.e I could have a card crediting to Mrs andye's Household Account or have my own separate account. I don't think you are supposed to have 2 separate cards. Just from memory-haven't read T&Cs in detail

Im pretty sure I requested an additional card on my account and they are linked

When I or hubby signs in, we see the cards linked as one account with one point balance.

I transferred Flybuy points this morning and they are already in my Velocity account with the 15% bonus.

Same here-within minutes

Just transferred all my flybuys to velocity. Was working out the math and I can I get more points / $ on my Coles mastercard than my CBA Diamond Mastercard and NAB Velocity Plat Visa
($1 * 1.25) / 2 = .625 for CBA
$1 = 0.5 for NAB
($1 * 2)*.435 = .87 for Coles (or $1 - $1 with the current bonus :) )

Feel free to visit the Flybuys forum for tips on how to make the most of targeted bonus point offers and other features of the program.

Comical that an absolute bottom of the barrel $89 annual fee card smashes all stand alone Visa/MC bar Virgin high flyer and citi prestige. No international transaction fees as well.

Same here, I got an additional card for my husband and both cards show as the one account. Not sure if the number on his card is the same, will have to check that when he gets home, as the Ts & Cs state:

  • Once the accounts have been successfully linked, this linked Velocity Frequent Flyer member will earn Status Credits when they scan their flybuys card on eligible purchases at Coles, Coles Online, Liquorland and First Choice Liquor.
I know both cards can still earn Flybuys points, but just wondering whether the reference to "their" Flybuys card means if the Flybuys account is linked to my husband's Velocity account, whether it has to be HIS Flybuys card scanned for the SC earn?

ETA: Have just checked our FB account and his card is a different number, so looks might swap cards with him (I do practically all the grocery shopping anyway) and swipe his card instead just in case!

Coles just got all my business. Was looking for an excuse to switch from Woolworths, had only been going there out of habit. Would have done it for the points alone, the SCs are some icing on the cake. Well done to both businesses.

My husband and I have different card numbers but our cards are linked to the one account. Then I linked that Flybuy account to one Velocity account.

Edit: Interesting T&C about the SCs, will have to read more into it

For SC's it's pretty clear:
You will be able to link one member of your flybuys household to a nominated Velocity membership and this linked person will be the recipient of the Status Credits.
There's up to 120 SC's out 800 SC's per year I no longer need to think about ... should get the 10 per month pretty easily ... without changing spending patterns :D

So now that I've linked my Velocity account with flybuys, does that mean I'll be earning SC with Virgin in addition to Etihad Guest Tier miles???

with the current 15% promo, it also works out to approx 0.37 Krisflyer miles per dollar at Coles (VS 0.4 Etihad miles)

I was previously saving for a F redemption via Etihad, but think now ill change tack and send across to Krisflyer via Velocity

flybuys members have a household account, with separate cards (the first 14 digits of the cards are the same). The household flybuys account is linked to an individual Velocity membership. Hope this helps.

As a family of 5 (with late teens) I spend $300 a week on groceries + extra $50 for additional milk, bread, fruit and Veg etc during the week. We have 105 meals a week, so assuming all $350 was on food (even though there is soaps and toiletries and cleaners etc) it averages out at $3.33 PP per meal - hardly lavish.

While I dream of the day I do, I currently don't see $1000 a month as a hefty spend.

I too spend way more than $1000 a month on food and grog (food obviously much greater than grog  )
The prospect of needing to send this to Coles for 10SC is not an attractive one.
I appreciate I may be an outlier here. A decent earn rate for the points would be a better proposition for me.
