We were lucky actually it had rained early morning and then was quite overcast, so it was as good as you get for the climb. We told our guys we needed to go slowly, which they agreed to and then set off like greased lightning. I had to stop a few times along the way as totally out of breath! Some fantastic pics FM.
Great to see Seven Wells again. My abiding memory of that day is making it all the way up and back in stifling humidity, with a few stops to cool off, then drinking a 1.5 litre bottle of chilled water in two gulps on return!
Yes Satine -402 Orchard Road. Basically get off at Orchard MRT, find Wheelock Place and then walk up Orchard Road until you get to the Hilton. Cross the road when you can. There is a building with a Starbucks downstairs. Two gorgeous jewellery shops - Canary and someone else with very upmarket pieces in the window. Satine is up on the first floor - really good selection of interesting evening wear. There was a black one in the window yesterday that I could have bought and I am not normally a black person.Pushka;]You purchased the gorgeous dress in Singapore? I think I need details if so.

What a coincidence - there is an article in the paper today about Langkawi
Langkawi: Malaysia's overlooked island paradise
Everything is off the rack, but they seem to be happy to do whatever you want. Mine wasn't quite right in the bodice, so they fixed that and then it was really long with a bit of a train at the back and I don't wear heels - I will probably wear a tiny heel with this. They cut the train off and shortened the dress to what I wanted and fixed the bodice and I gather made a few other little adjustments that she felt was needed.love_the_life;]Oh dear, I think Pushka will be looking for another QM2 gown

There is a lot of construction going on certainly, but large amounts of the island are Unesco Geopark and protected, so that should help.Quickstatus;]I hope it does not turn into another Bali

I got the impression they will fit in with whatever you want re timeframe. The dressmaker is there and works on site. When I went for my fitting yesterday she hadn't finished the hem as she wanted to see it on and she lent me a pair of heels. She told me to come back in 20 minutes and it was all finished.
I am glad to hear that . Our kids are also very supportive of us spending their inheritance. My dress was S$1190.00 so a bit less in Aussie $. I really didn't look at prices - we had bought from the shop before, so I knew that while it wasn't cheap it wasn't outrageous either, so I just looked at the dresses. I assume a range up and down from that. Although mine looks simple, the top is pleated down to the hips so would have quite a lot of work in it, which would make it more expensive.I love to travel;]What are the prices like - your dress looked gorgeous. My mum would die for a shop like this as she goes on lots of cruises. I am one of these weird kids that encourages her to spend the inheritance so might just have to go to Singapore with her to check out this shop
