I've decided to come up too. Flights booked: QF5 on 23rd. Back via BNE QF52 then QF8. Haven't decided on a hotel yet.

It will be great to meet some new (to me) faces

I did both the QF and EK lounges last week. Very impressed with the new QF version. EK was much quieter, though - and you get real champagne and a view of the apron and runway.

The EK buffet amused me - whenever you took one item off a particular platter, the staff member whisked away the rest of the platter, and brought it back momentarily with the one you took replaced. It seems there are to be a set number of items on all platters at all times!

Totally agree.

If you want a gregarious, busy experience, do QF lounge.

If you want somewhere to relax, have a few 'steadier' champagnes and generally chill, then it's EK.

Nice of them to provide such variety, isn't it?

Ah yes, I remember. Catch the MRT to Promenade. I think you can get into the hotel from there without actually going outside. Would that count?

I've got 3 factors to consider. I have hilton points but no status, SWMBO has diamond but no points. I have points and status with IHG.

I'm WP so no problem with lounge access. Looking forward to Flounging with those going up on Friday.

Being a bit old, lazy and in need of a few more IHG elite qualifying points to maintain status I've now booked at the Changi CP. I can guest one to breakfast there if anyone is not keeping tummy space free for lounge food later.

I could guest some-one if they need it, but am actually transiting SIN that day with some non FF friends, so not sure of movements other that we are going into the city for dinner before flying out AY late that evening.

If it was the week earlier I could have taken the secret QF81 special CGK-SIN but alas no. If I can figure a new way to get to SIN I'll give it a go. Already did SYD-CGK-SIN last year so will have to look harder. Is there bonus points for arriving on a turboprop?

Not directly, was thinking Firefly from SZB in place of KUL. MH is around $450 OW ADL-KUL currently, haven't flown that route yet, just trying to colour the map in still.
