Singapore QF/BA lounge new changes

Things are really souring with BA/QF, for example a Per-Sin return comes out to over 5.5k rtn, on Y! Wonder if BA will fly their own metal to Per? I miss 747s in Per

I'm happy to provide lessons, I'm only 9 years her senior but was battling my way into F lounges at her age. How serious is this BF anyway? ;)
Yes having status at a young age is definitely a good way to train in assertiveness :)She did an AONE4 with us last year, but did the SYD-LHR and LAX-SYD legs on her own. She did get challenged a lot but on the whole people backed down quite quickly :). The bf is very serious....for now anyway.

I can't see how this could be a BA lounge, and even if it were, you are entitled to enter.

I believe the SIN lounges were both operated by QF, not BA (even though joint lounges). I believe HKG/BKK are operated by BA as joint. I can't imagine BA have suddenly staffed a lounge in SIN, but with what is going on it is possible.

According to the Qantas website --> Creating a new lounge experience in Singapore

The Lounge in SIN is still QF/BA Lounge (note: text is bold is from QF. It still doesn't explain why trippin_the_rift was not allowed access to the lounge.

Qantas Platinum Frequent Flyers will have access to the current Qantas and British Airways Business Lounge
Turn left after immigration, up the escalators.

So, I should be able to take the kids in as per the following guideline.
[h=2][/h]
Qantas Lounges welcome you when travelling together with your family. In addition to your normal guest allowance you may also bring up to two children, between ages 4 and 17, into lounges operated by Qantas. Children aged 3 years or under are not counted as guests for the purpose of determining the number of guests of the member. If you are travelling with more than two children, the Qantas lounge manager will try to accommodate them, subject to reviewing the space available in the lounge.

Considering SIN is (apparently) QF's asian gateway, they really are treating the passengers like schmucks.

Can't argue with that!

Don't quite understand how BA can turn you away - it is a oneworld lounge so you have access as a OWE.

I do hope a complaint went off to the P1SST.

As per the One World Site: Notes: Construction of a new Singapore Lounge is currently underway. Eligible passengers may be directed to an alternative lounge

Hi all,

I am a QC member and would be travelling on 3K SIN-KUL in the morning. What are the chances of me being able to use the Skyview Lounge outside of the Qantas Lounge usual operating hours?

While everyone I talk at P1 is super amazing, it's like the feedback gets passed on and then stops. Action appears to be zero.

I also had a poor experience last week where I had a shadow on SYD-BKK which disappeared on boarding. This meant I was one of the highest status pax onboard (and revenue J seat) and had the worst seat in biz because someone was next to me, despite there being a choice of 10+ other seating options for them.

Honestly, I'm giving up.

LOL, so I get to catch two significant events on the one night, the last A380 departure for QF ex SIN and the opening of the new lounge!

wonder where a Vanilla WP travelling in on BA CW and out on QF J (unless the op-up gods are kind) goes ??

As a Vanilla WP in J on QF10 from SIN last Sunday, I went to the platinum lounge. The orchids were beautiful. There was plenty of space to sit. There was hot food being brought around on trays. Can't remember what the champagne was but it was fine. I didn't have any complaints, other than I couldn't watch Djokovic v Murray on TV. (That, and availability went from F9 to F0 36 hours before my flight so I didn't get my points upgrade to F).

There was one irate Aussie traveller with wife and child in tow having a loud discussion with the QF staffer near the top of the escalator. His main gripe seemed to be that the lounge he had been directed to was inadequate because it did not serve spirits, and he was demanding entry to the platinum lounge instead (without success).

The other half and I left SIN with one half going to PER and the other to SYD on Sat 19 Jan and my name (I'm P1) was on the list to go into the Emirates Lounge. They let the other half in too though only PS and travelling on a separate ticket to me. There was no problem at all, us getting into the Lounge and we thought it was pretty damn good! As Trippin the Rift said the food was exceptional and I agree with him that my only better or equal experience of the Emirates Lounge food in the SIN Lounge was the Qantas First Lounge in SYD. I may not get to see this Lounge as I mostly transit through SIN but I am looking forward to the Lounge in DXB after my initial experience with Emirates.

Ok thankyou, that doesn't sound too awful ( except for the F9 to F0 part ;) )

I have posted a similar question to QF and was surprised to receive a call from Kyle(?) today. He told me that I can use Skyview Lounge when travelling QF, JQ & 3K as a QP - I didn't ask about the operating hours, but he did not mention that either - so I would believe that QP can use the Lounge

So that is great... All that we have been hearing about.. 3 months of development.. Look forward to the wonderful opulence of the new lounge - looks like a modern touch from the mock up - with an overworked self serve?? barista machine.. Shouldn't be pre-judgemental
Look forward to the continuum of grand opening events on 01 April

I'm very excited about not travelling through SIN again, thanks QF! Won't be going via DXB either!

I've had a few flights through SIN over the last month and all I can say is that it is chaos. I can't wait till this mess is over, but at least MH now offer us un alternative :)
