Yes, I see now.
I had thought you might have been alluding to the adjacent post #548.

The new lounge looks great. We are travelling though on Sunday evening so I am looking forward to seeing it.

As striking as it looks, i was a bit surprised that the furnishings were orange - it will match Jetstar very well.

"Impeccable personalised service" - hmm reminds me of how the SIN F lounge used to be before it got busy, now with QP, SG, WP, WP1, and J pax in this lounge, it will be interesting to see how sustainable that model is.

FWIW, the Sydney F lounge service has degraded of late too, and become very busy. No longer the sanctuary it used to be.

I guess it depends on the time of day.

You forgot F, CL, EK, MH, BA, + the others;)

Lets see.....

You're looking so hot today, Rhonda.....just like a Sunrise:D

Love it, we should be so lucky!

Back too topic. Credit where credit is due it seems Qantas has delivered a great lounge offering and dare I say it perhaps exceeded some of our very tough expectations. I say this as this is a J lounge access in a non hub (though some would argue it is a hub)

From reports so far it is comparable to CX's HKG The Wing J lounge. Looking forward to my visit in June.

Visited the lounge today courtesy of some free 3K tickets. Looks fantastic, great service and the seats were superb. Love that each seat has individualised power and USB charging. Food was fantastic, the specialty dishes were wagyu beef noodles and crispy salmon. Overall, it feels more like a hospitality suite than a lounge. Many staff around making you feel comfortable. You're escorted to your seat once you enter the lounge, and orders for drinks/food are taken and delivered to your table.

Managed to put on some pictures, hopefully they'll do. If anybody wants more, let me know.

Which one?

EDIT: Maybe the one who thinks the sun rose and shone from her rear? ;)

M or F ... that's only one out of many unfortunately. I met about 20 of them 3 years ago, will meet roughly 30 in a few weeks.
Online bluster vs personal presence is always an interesting comparison.

Edit. After thinking about it, I think I know who you meant at ft...

Thanks for the pics, tsentsan. Concerned that with all those hard surfaces and open spaces it's quite noisy when getting busy? Any experience?

Impressions from last night:

* Liked to wagyu angus noodles made to order. There was also cripsy salmon, which we didn't try.
* Self-serve meals seemed heartier than the old J Lounge (was last there 2yrs ago).
* Sparkling wine. Salinger.
* liked the tables & shared seating, though it was tricky to find 3 seats together after we arrived ~7:15pm. Def cleared up after QF6 boarded
* liked the more extensive dessert selection & that I was able to order black sticky rice without mango.
* Any time you asked someone for something, the answer included "Where are you sitting, I will bring it to you". This included my cosmo from the bar & the wagyu noodles.
* No tour for us. Again, fairly busy on arrival.
* New brand of soaps, etc. Forgot to get a photo after our shower as the loo in the room would not stop flowing and I was concerned abiut getting out of there & stopping the water waste. LOVED the smell of them. Not familiar with the brand. Somewhat Aesop/Perfect Potion like (smells of the products).
* bar staff were getting slammed at one point. Mr Katie thought coffees were taking longer than they should have. Possibly need an extra person in there.
* I though simongr won't love the catering. Salad and desserts and the 2nd western cook-to-order option will be the main evening offerings you might like as I know you're not madly into Asian food (no judgements, but that seriously went through my head last night).
* Took ages to get onto the wifi. Just couldn't get the T&Cs acceptance screen to load. Improved after QF6 boarding calls.

Sounds great, except the wi-fi :)

After yesterday's lunch at Spice Temple I think simongr may be persuaded to sample the Asian catering ;)

Looking forward to checking it out in two weeks, maybe I should offer to upgrade the WiFi access points?

Those photos posted by tsentsan really make me want to visit (if I could). In particular, really like the grey chair with green seams, wonder if that can be bought anywhere ;) provided it's comfortable of course!

Thanks for the great photos and reports. I will be interested to check it out next time I decide to fly out of T1 at Changi.

Bit disappointing about the bubbles, but the food sounds okay.

I haven't been in an F lounge yet so I cannot compare, but I really loved the experience at SIN. We too were escorted around and we chose to sit near the family area so I didn't have to feel quite as guilty if my child laughed a bit too loudly. We came in around 18.30 and there were plenty of seats.

After a while we thought we would eat here rather than on the plane and I am glad we did. We too had the choice of the crispy skin salmon and the wagyu noodles. We had both, but we all preferred the salmon - it was cooked perfectly. There was also the buffet food available and we were told that the signature dish from there was the butter chicken. We tried the chicken and it was nice, but I preferred the salmon.

For white wines we had the choice of Whale's Tale Sauvignon Blanc or a Margaret River Chardonnay of which the name now escapes me.

It never really seemed too busy while we were there, and there was always plenty of room in the dinning area.

I can see why the opening was delayed a week or so. There were still a few little things that needed to be finished. Not sure if the ceiling will always remain open above the dining areas, but we had airconditioning leaks next to the table. Also my sink in the bathroom (up at the showers) was missing the button to drain the water, so I had to pull it up by my fingers. Small issues really which I am sure they will sort out in the upcoming weeks.

The lounge is a credit to Qantas. The lounge is really well set up for single travellers limits the amount of wasted room/seats. I am looking forward to our return there one day.

I have a photo of the crispy skin salmon if anyone wants it but I have no idea how to upload photos.

I am expecting caterwauling along these lines (not accusing you of this of course).

I like the idea of more of these for P1 - the WP gets their standard benefits (and in this case it includes an improved lounge) but P1 gets a bonus. Note I will be losing P1 soon and still support this.
Don't Golds and Qantas Club members have the same access and benefits as a Platinum in SIN?

By the way I couldn't care less about a shirt press and shoe shine.

I know that they say the CL bathrooms will have Payot (and perhaps Kevin Murphy) in them; I wonder what the rest will have? If it's the recent Jurlique, I guess that ain't so bad. Can't put a finger on Molton Brown, but I think QF (and even BA, unfortunately) have moved on. Just hope it isn't Kim Clark hospital grade disinfectant.
Toiletries are obviously very important to you.

Do they have ordinary soap as an option for the simple folks?

Re access - yes, I believe so.
Re "ordinary" soap - I guess it depends on what you call ordinary. ;) It's liquid soap with a nice smell. That's all I can remember. I meant to take a pic, but forgot. Same brand as the hand wash used in the loos there now, but not Molton Brown and not Payot. Meant to take a pic in the showers, but forgot.
