So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

Hyundai IX35. traded in mine and the mrs car last year.. we didn't need 2, and I liked the hyundai rentals I was driving in the US. really impressed with the IX35. impressive options (Bluetooth, usb/ipod, safety etc), decent performance (for a 4cyl.. coming off my last car a supercharged v6), and really good economy and running costs, and suprisingly spacious interior (I'm a large aussie bloke, and the car seats me in the front and my large mates in the back comfortably). Style is nice also.

I would like a Jeep Grand Cherokee, but damn the fuel consumption is ridiculous.

I don't actually own a car. Well, in theory I do, but it's the daughter's Getz and I cannot say I love it on the few occasions I need a car and it's the only one left available. Likewise the son's Mazda 2, which looks a bit funkier. Besides they are usually so full of rubbish it's like driving a tip and there's no Frank Sinatra on the CD selections.

Mostly it's the wife's Golf VI, which is a lovely car to drive. A bit fussy with some of the controls, but I've never met a car that handled all the modern electronics well, especially when you are trying to access some rarely-used function.

As a cabbie, it was a Fairlane or more recently a Statesman. Very comfortable for a thirteen hour shift.

And decided over the weekend I am going to sell my old girl.

Its time to move it on to someone that can appreciate it more, and spend the quality time with her she deserves.

Nothing... Its a classic 1967 Fairlane.

So will put the $$$s in the bank for the time being.

Want to get a Studebaker or Caddy eventually... Maybe for a midlife crisis in a few years time!

I bought a 2011 John Cooper Works (JCW) Mini Cooper late last year. It was a very uncertain purchase after I sold my old WRX (the second one i'd owned) but as Subaru have lost the plot design wise (trying to go mainstream to compete with other 'hot hatches'), I was stuck for a choice in my price range.

Ended up getting a very good deal, which only got better when she arrived... in the wrong colour (People on FB will know all about that ordeal).

And it was an excellent purchase. It's a bucket load of fun to drive, even if it has over 200 BHP to the front wheels on a car that weighs SFA. I'm still learning how to floor it at the lights without losing traction :)

Here she is, on day of delivery...

Don’t you just love driving in HKG :)

So few roundabouts and no one knows how to use them, short phase amber traffic lights and the bigger your car the better you’ll handle taxi drivers trying to cut you off! :p

And, early in the morning, the whine and yowl of the rice-o-racer! Some fabulous roads there, even in the most crowded neighbourhoods, one level up from the street.

And it's finally here!

2012 Audi A5 1.8T Coupe, optioned up with Pearl effect paint, nappa leather, Navigation package, and LED daytime running lights. I was surprised at how many options came standard considering it's a VW Group vehicle - like the groovy stop/start engine function at red lights.

Very nice! Congrats on the a5.

I'm driving a liberty gt spec b at the moment and hope for an upgrade next year when the lease runs out.

Volkswagen Amarok, although it more resembles a truck than a car!
