So, what music are you listening to now?

Was fortunate to see Tommy Emmanuel in concert at Qpac last saturday.
Deliberately avoided listening to any material pre concert so it was all a bit wow.
I even had to google the set up of his performance guitar next day as some of the stuff seemed impossible.

Of course he has a massive Spotify playlist and I am working through it all
Anyway I have now dug out my 50 year old Maton 12 string and put some strings in the Takamine Classical .. so fame is just around the corner …..🤒

..and that sent me back to Doc watson who seemed to own the tune in my day

Again, can't believe I haven't heard these guys before! I need to get out more....................

Just last month in Holland, some very well credentialed people also performing there.

A teaser from 2022...

The John Farnham doco on 7 last night is excellent. Make me a bit emotional.
A reflection of the man is he has kept the same band members since forming the band for his comeback. He sang backing for Daryl Braithwaite when he was making his comeback and helped Tommy Emmanuel when he had addiction and included him in a bracket of his performance to help him re-establish himself. That loyalty is evident when no-one has a bad word to say about him. Well almost no-one ... except one LRB member.

Have been getting into some novelty metal over the last few weeks. Very good at drowning out the background noise...

I do sometimes wonder what it would be like to be in a themed band.
Gloryhammer heading out to Australia in a few months; hoping to head over for one of the shows as they're not crossing the nullarbor to Perth!

So music buffs, who here is into vinyl?

I just purchased a Rega Planer turntable to replace my 80's Onkyo that needs fixing.
My collection doesn't consist of many records but I thought I may as well relive my youth, open a good bottle of red, sit back and have a listen.
The alternative is that the records just sit there doing nothing, not even gathering dust.

What sort of amp and speakers are you using, or maybe headphones?

Still got most of my vinyl, 33 and 45, plus dad’s old stuff including 78’s.

Problem is Max, really don’t want to have him investigating that spinning thing.

I was in JB earlier and the price of vinyl was jaw dropping, mind you the ones I looked at were the coloured variety. I walked out with a couple cheapie cds of Len Bridges and a John Mayer.

The boss also says I play things too loud……. :(
