So enhancements await. Let's speculate widely and see who is closest to the pin.

My guess:

Lifetime status.

Maybe they will announce some decent benefits to differentiate between Gold and Platinum as gawd knows, there is nothing much in recent years. Both levels are basically identical now. Mostly each year I wonder why I bother.

New long haul destination? Don't think so, as no planes - unless they walk away from the loss making HKG?

Australia's highest-earning Velocity Frequent Flyer credit card: Offer expires: 21 Jan 2025
- Earn 60,000 bonus Velocity Points
- Get unlimited Virgin Australia Lounge access
- Enjoy a complimentary return Virgin Australia domestic flight each year

Lifetime status.

Possibly, but seeing that would interest or be very relevant to only about .001% of those visiting the website, I doubt they'd be trumpeting it so loudly.

Presumably a new earning partnership with someone big. Austrlaia Post or something like that possibly?

We didn't use our WP upgrades last year

New order of B737 - MAX (geddit? ) :rolleyes::p
Two for one these days ;)

This is almost certainly going to be the twice-annual promo where they offer you bonus Velocity points for transferring points over from a credit card. It happens every May and November.

The only question is, will they offer more than the usual 15% bonus this time around?

VA/VFF will be joining Skyteam?
VA/VFF will be joining OW?
VA/VFF will be joining *A?
VA/VFF will be taken over more by SQ with a higher % of shareholding, thus the transfer rate of points between the partners will be 1.5:1, vv.
3 the Lounge visits per year?
VFF will be taken over by KF?
10 points per $1 spent with Kaligo?
1000 VFF per $2000 spent with Coles's FB.
2 VFF SC per $100 spent at Coles?

They (VFF) did send me an email asking me if I had points sitting idly with their points partners.

I wondered if this might be the case at some point since they started putting the total points earned over lifetime in the new VFF page.

I'm hoping it's a new "big" partner in their alliance (or maybe an alliance itself).

However despite these hopes what I think it will be is either the points transfer or something even more uninspiring like a million/billion points giveaway competition.

It would have to be this. And always keep in mind that Velocity's build up to a promotion normally results in a bit of a let down when it's released!

15 points bonus with Kaligo perhaps?
Must say though, Kaligo came through with points without me having to put in a points claim.
Velocity Hotels is now provided by Kaligo.

Next week is a big week in fare wars as we have Jetstar launching its birthday sale this Sunday or Monday and usually VA/Tiger go hard against it.

It has been a while since a % off redemption flights also.

At MEL lounge yesterday I did see on the monitors them spruiking a 1 million seat sale starting May 1 and a Triple points offer coming soon

So a good old raise some funds campaigns just before end of financial years - fits pretty well.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but the way they are hyping it...

A massive sale would be ok, but hopefully it's more than that. An alliance partnership would be awesome.

In addition to hype, they've also become better at hiding bad news. The old Velocity site used to have a fairly prominent link to "Program Updates" in the main navigation, and I have been unable to find it on the new website... until today!

In the footer, the "Media centre" link (which looks like it has nothing to do with the media) takes you to a list of announcements and, amongst some competition winner notices, lists the following from February/March:
Not that I imagine many people are affected by these changes, as they never seemed too popular, but still I'm surprised I haven't seen these changes mentioned before now.
