Having the veg wonton noodle - definitely TOOOO salty to my liking. Reeks of soy sauce ... The wonton itself is nice, but disintegrates rather quickly in the salty broth. Doesn't hold its shape for more than 5 mins and one might not be able to finish the dish within 5 mins ... so all in a ok dish, will not be ordering it again ...

It's been a few time now I visited the domestic J lounge in Melbourne, and I must say I am quite impressed by the quality of the food that comes out of the spice bar. Really tasty, clearly a level above what's being traditionally served in J lounges. I think it's rare enough to see Qantas doing something good for their frequent flyers, that we should give some good feedback.
That's why I would like to encourage anybody visiting this lounge to come and say hi to the guy serving the food, and to give him a compliment for the food. He was certainly pleased every time I praised him, will be nice if a few of us do that regularly.

Gosh, the laksa was just fantastic. Whoever is preparing this meal in the kitchen, we don't want him to leave the job for something else.
Can we advocate for the chef's pay rise? 😅

Today’s offerings. Tasted quite good, but really difficult to eat with the rice in it. I also had managed to miss the condiment bar to the left all the previous times I’d visited, but made up for it today. Good selection!

I’ve been caught out on the chilli a couple of times with that one. I can take spice but a few too many seeds can get you.

Agree it’s not practical to eat with just the lettuce leaf and the mix can border on stodgy. Overall a decent one and welcome mix up the soupy noodle ones with a white shirt.

Friday afternoon offering. Certainly a few people requesting this one without the chilli. The pork was very good (confirmed with a second helping) and for the record I did go for the chilli.

I was also there Friday late afternoon. I didn't think to request with/without chili, so it came with a single wide slice of chilli on top of the pork mixture, which I was able to put to one side.

Enjoyed the pork but no chili was added by default. Visited the condiments section:)

Mel J is definitely a cut above Syd for food, the latter still hasn't brought back the juicer at breakfast :(

Interesting addition to the toasted sandwich options here at Mel ... now can do toasted wraps!
