SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

And the blind at my head end would not stay down which was disappointing. Got the same seat, same aircraft and same problem on the way back.

The suites offer limited privacy... you are not protected from anything more than a passing glance (there are various vantage points into the suites for the crew to check on the health, safety and wellbeing of their passengers inside :))

firstclasser disregard MEL's scare mongering - it's not like F cabin crew are peeping toms - with doors closed and shades down you will have total privacy.

It worked its way up whilst I was asleep and whatever I tried didn't work. The FA didn't seem to be very creative on the fixing either. On the return journey, I didn't realise it was the same plane till I woke up and the screen was up again.

And you nor any of crew could make it stay down?

Anyone have any experience with SQ bids for upgrades? My first SQ Y booking (always been in J) so eager to see if I can get some upgrades :)

Quick question that may have been answered previously. Look at business rewards flights MEL-SIN-CEB-SIN-MEL. Due to Phillipines rules it makes more sense to book as 2 x one ways as much cheaper. Only thing is I want to book a stopover on the way back through Singapore which I think costs $100USD on a one way award. Issue is I can't seem to add it online and I need to waitlist the flights. Is there an easy way to go about this?

You will need to call up to book stop over. You can only book online if it is either a return saver award or a one way standard award IIRC.

Was thinking of booking the following award: Klo-Sin in Y, then Sin -Syd in F...can't do this mixed booking online; if I ring, will Sq price it as 2 separate tickets or just one?...and wili i stilll get be able to get the 15% discount as I can't do it online ? :)

Assuming there is availability for both sectors, they will price it as one F ticket (even the Y segment). I do believe you get the 15% discount as you can't do mixed-class online.

My recent experience suggests that this is now down to the goodwill of the agent, as there's been somewhat of a change in policy regarding mixed-class itineraries.

I just did my first two ever business class 'square seat' flights! One on the A380 - front row window. I was thankful for the extra space, but weird how the legrest is still shaped to accommodate the cubby (means about 1/3 of the bed area is missing). Next flight was 77ER with new business. Again bulkheads - much nicer design! The mattress has been adapted to give you a full bed. They've basically gone for a reverse herringbone but with the seats facing full forward (the leg space is considerably longer, similar to 'standard' reverse herringbones). Almost missed my flight, didn't appreciate how far B10 was
