SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

If two of us have only enough points to redeem our own J ticket each. Should we book individually and then get them "linked" or something via email?

Find the flight you want and then ring SQ to book. That way they can do whatever they need to do to link the bookings at the time. There is no penalty for booking over the phone vs internet.

Well if you are looking at Return Tickets and do not need the stopover, then book as two one-ways by 2 pax and use each persons account for one each of the two bookings.

I do this for most of my bookings, using my wife's and my accounts, as:
- I like the greater flexibility and ease to change flights later if required
- I mainly prefer flying in one city, and out of the other to avoid backtracking
- I believe it opens up more award possibilities (ie I book earlier as I do not have to wait for the window for return to open up to grab the departing flight, plus other factors like destination, who else may already have booked etc)
- In house keeping our accounts it uses up the oldest points of each account (more important with my wife's account as the ability to transfer points in are less)

+1's passport details are 3 passports old. Didn't cause any problems with our recent flights. Even my passport details are not always correct as I have 2 passports.

When my Passport number was no longer correct (old one had lapsed and I had to get a new one) as I had not updated it it meant that online checkin would not work. So I had to checkin in at the airport. I still flew but did not realise what the problem was till then.

But you can change it right? As in the registered passport number

Ok everyone, time for some feedback please, first time im using krisflyer to book

trying to book for 2pax
MEL-LHR 13/06
CDG-MEL 15/07
I checked two weeks ago, and J was avail both ways, and just one seat on F on the MEL-LHR leg

so just then I booked the following
13/06 1 pax F MEL:15:40-21:30 SIN 01:10-0745 LHR Waitlist (preferred flight as it leaves in the PM and not early morning or late night)
13/061 pax F MEL:15:40-21:30 SIN 01:10-0745 LHR Waitlist (preferred flight as it leaves in the PM and not early morning or late night)
13/06 1 pax F MEL:00:05-06:00 SIN 12:35-1915 LHR CONFIRMED (second preferred flight as stopover is 6:30 hours and is the shortest with waitlist)
13/06 1 pax F MEL:00:05-06:00 SIN 12:35-1915 LHR Waitlist (second preferred flight as stopover is 6:30 hours and is the shortest with waitlist)
13/06 2 pax J MEL:00:05-06:00 SIN 12:35-1915 LHR CONFIRMED x2 (second preferred flight as stopover is 6:30 hours)

unfortunately, when I check CDG-MEL 15/07, both F and J all waitlisted :(

I booked the waitlists on F first, except I got one confirmed, so I also booked Confirmed J as a backup as I guess theyd prefer to travel together

I hope I did it right?

That’s great - got to be happy with that
Ecstatic !! Now just hoping the confirmed J for the other leg with wait list F will clear!!!

edit: just checked the flights ive confirmed, and now there are none aviaible. I must have got lucky, or is this how it is normally?

Anyone having problems waitlisting flights? I am trying to waitlist a few flights and the engine takes me to the final page then tells me it can't complete the task and call their offices.

Update: normal transmission has resumed.

(Please feel free to direct me to a wiki or another post that covers this.)

My father is flying VIE-DUS-SIN-SYD (OS-SQ-SQ) in J on a redemption I made with my Krisflyer miles.

SIN layover is 19hr, but daytime, so he'd like to clear immigration and explore the city. Can he still get bags checked-through from VIE all the way to SYD? Or if they have to be collected and taken through Singapore Customs, can he recheck them but then leave the airport until departure time?
