Dear Mr Elite

Thank you for your enquiry.

We would like to advise that satay is not served on the Singapore-Melbourne route because of the long block times and strict quarantine laws. The Singapore-Perth route is an exception because of the shorter block times and turnaround time.

We hope you find the above information useful.

Warm regards.

Don't understand SQ's reply.

1. Strict quarantine laws would also apply to Perth.
2. Unless the flight is double catered ex SIN, what would block time have to do with satay?

FWIW - MH serves satay ex Melbourne.

This AFF thread from 2018 suggests the '6001' might be a temporary 'holding' flight number pending a schedule change: SQ 6001 (seems it will eventually change back to something more familiar)

I was thinking double catered might be a possible reason (in terms of taking back the leftover sticks and meat products?). But that shouldn't affect departures ex AU where local produce could be catered.

The ban on meat should only apply to pork ATM? Satay would generally be lamb, beef or chicken.

It is double catered - I asked the crew last week.

Yes PER is a turn around destination - all F & B loaded in SIN - I have asked for some further clarification and will post when I receive

Also don’t disregard the fact that there are greatly varying regs and laws regarding foodstuffs eminating from different countries right around the world - I don’t know - I just try to pass on info for benefit of all

Same here - same flight, different day. (likewise two emails 30 minutes apart).

However when I go online to check I have a pop-up
"Schedule change(s) in your flight booking
There has been change(s) to one/some of the flight(s) in your booking. The revised flight itinerary is listed below:"
Flight : MEL - SIN
"Decline/Accept" changes.
I hit Accept -> "Just a moment.... we'll take you there...." then same Decline/Accept pop-up appears.

Had to ring SQ/KF to check that I had accepted changes and that the seat allocations that the website said were "no seat selected" were in fact intact - they were <whew!> :)

But......
Our onward flight FRA-DBV had "disappeared" o_O even though it was on my SQ travel itinerary.
After 50 minutes on the phone, they discovered the booking intact but hadn't confirmed it because they hadn't debited my credit card for the extra fees and taxes. They've now done that so I can breathe a sigh of relief. (These bookings were all done whilst I was in the midst of an intense medical treatment so it's quite probable my brain was addled and I may not have confirmed when I should have. Anyway all sorted now.)
SQ person was very hard to understand when she spoke quickly but was very helpful in sorting things out.

if i book an award SYD to SIN and another SIN to EUR on two separate PNR/tickets.
Can/would SQ join them into one PNR/tickets?

my understanding is if my SYD to SIN is delayed or similar I could miss my second flight and it would be my responsibility.
However if one PNR then SQ would sort me out?
have I understood that correctly?

That is correct.
As to whether they will/could join tickets, I dunno.
My experience with a similar situation: as above, I booked MEL-xSIN-FRA on day of release. I wanted to fly on to DBV but that flight was the next morning (us arriving into FRA 2040h) and flights hadn't been released. I grabbed MEL-FRA when I could and rang them a day later to add FRA-DBV onto the same ticket/PNR for an extra 1500 points which they (sort of) did.
YMMV.

just rang them, she said she can link them on their backend, incase of delays & check through baggage
this can be an award & cash mix

Perth Airport lounge - has anyone flying J on SQ used the air New Zealand lounge instead of the Singapore lounge? If so which is the better for room and food?
The answer to my question doesn’t really matter. I have determined it won’t be open so not an option anymore.

A quick story of some good fortune travelling SQ 919, the 1705 MNL-SIN service Wednesday 11 December on a 777-300 (9V-SYL). While waiting in the lounge, I was paged to inform me that the IFE for seat 20A was not working and I could move to the latter flight at 1900 that I had originally booked. (No thank you - as I had a transfer to MEL and I needed lounge time for a shower and food).

Just before take-off a member of the ground staff arrived at my seat and gave me and the guy sititng in 20B S$150 of vouchers for the inconvenience of foregoing IFE on the flight. Thanks very much. I had music, podcasts and Netflix downloaded on my computer anyway. After an uninspiring dinner and about 45 mins out of Singapore, the CSM came along to again apologize for the lack of IFE and gave me a further S$150 worth of vouchers for the inconvenience. Thanks very much, again. Maybe I should have said I already had some but I thought I might have dropped the originals at the front of the cabin as none were forthcoming for 20B - until he went forward and asked for them.

Call it a Christmas gift from SQ. Not as good as an upgrade but a pleasant surprise.

I am looking to head to EU later this year. I would like two R seats to where-ever. I can see one on dates that suit, but not two. When I search for two, I am offered a waitlist. Am I better off booking the one seat I can get and waitlisting the other, or waitlisting two seats from the get-go?

Ta.
