SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Sounds like they run a business. Put ya phone on vibrate and have ya argument anywhere a bit more private. Think his disrespect for his wife was annoying me more than the loud speaker.

Seems a dining room full of dirty looks has got them to quieten down.

What is the etiquette to tell a couple of Aussie riff raff that multiple on speaker calls in TPR is not particularly the way to do things

The family with the baby is being less disruptive.
You walk up to them and stand 2ft away and hold your finger up to your mouth and go -'Shooosh' - then keep looking them right in the eye until they stop.

YES easy for me as I am big fat and ugly - your other choice is just go to TPR desk and alert staff - they will soon sort them out. There are 2 telephone rooms down back end of TPR where they can lock themselves away if they want to 'talk to the birds'.

Make no mistake the TPR is for 'quiet enjoyment of F/R passengers' and this type of disturbance should not and will not be tolerated. I should add SAME SAME all lounges ALL airlines - if these dudes wanna talk to the birds go do it outside terminal not inside lounge.

Hope they weren't on your flight & pity the pax that were on their flight!

Hope this fits in this thread, and the experienced SQ folk can answer...

I am looking to book Suites Saver Award CBR-SIN-NRT for late next year when it opens up, except the award system won't let me choose CBR, whereas the revenue one does...

Has anyone had luck at an included Domestic connection to an exit point (SYD) before? I asked them, they said no, but i'm not sure they understood...

not sure you can start in CBR as VA are not a *A member and therefore the only way to start in CBR is to do a seperate VA redemption booked thru velocity or kris flyer and then start your redemption trip to NRT. Also if you book on anything other than SQ it's considered a *A redemption and different rates from saver ie no 15% online discount. Basically I don't think you can get saver or * A redemption from CBR

you'd have to book as a *A ticket rather than SQ award ticket - which means you lose the 15% discount. better to book the CBR-SYD separately. (unless you have a big bank of KF miles to burn)

I have read through all 79 pages of this thread over my last few nightshifts and wanted to thank everyone involved for making it an enjoyable and informative read.

I have recently changed from Etihad to Singapore which was a decision mainly due to cost of redemption, flew my first SQ J MEL - SIN return and was a little disappointed but it was the refitted 777 so I know it is not their best product. I am flying SQ J again to Europe on July 1st and am thinking about upgrading one leg to sample the F or R product but I am unsure if Mrs Klovedog would be happy about this......

Anyway, thanks again for all the great tips and stories!

Gotta love SQ - whilst KF call centre will always be your best friend - SAA Feedback should never be under valued.

Long story short:

Issue 1 - On take off my iPhone slid past me like a bullet and disappeared down behind back of seat in Suite - after levelling out I spent 5 mins seeking it to no avail - crew asked what I was doing - I explained - Nicle said let me find it - Nicole spent 15 mins on her hands and knees / flat on her stomach with torch in hand - finally spotted it - had to remove wer watch and wedding ring - was just ably to slide her entire arm into in under behind seat to retrieve iPhone - UNBELIEVABLE.

Issue 2 - R / F Saver Redpt booked PEK-SIN-MEL June 9 - reqd to change to ret home early - only rdpts available on June 7 was Standard with Saver requiring waitlist. Waitlist I did and multiple multiple calls to KF call ctr I still could not shake Saver rdpt loose - too close to dep time so I upgraded to Standard at extra 78K pts.

On board 807 PEK-SIN in R - 2 pax / 237 SIN-MEL in F - I am the only pax - WTF - why no Saver Award availability? I could not believe loadings - so on return fired off email to SAA Feedback - their response below:

Dear Mr Elite

Thank you for your email of 8 June 2015, sharing your experience on board flight SQ802 from Beijing to Singapore on 7 June 2015.

We are heartened to learn of your appreciation of the assistance rendered by Leading Stewardess Nicole Chan in retrieving your iPhone when it fell behind your seat. We are constantly striving to attend to our passengers’ needs as best as we can and we are glad that the service accorded to you by Ms Chan exceeded your expectations.

Service excellence has always been a focus of our airline and it is therefore rewarding to receive such positive feedback on our personnel. We shared your compliments with our Cabin Crew Manager, who will convey your generous words to Ms Chan, along with InFlight Supervisor Sri Krishan Dubay, Chief Steward Lawrence Lim and Leading Steward Gerald Sum. Your comments are an affirmation to our staff and will inspire them to do their best and uphold the service standard expected of Singapore Airlines.

On a separate matter, we are concerned by your observation on the number of Suites/First Class seats that were occupied by passengers on your this flight, as well as your onward flight SQ237 to Melbourne. From a review of your booking records, we note that you had made changes to your flight date via our website, for which only seats at the First Class Standard award level was available.

Our investigation reports indicate that there was a technical issue with the inventory system on this day, for which the system had erroneously restricted the release of seats at the First Class Saver award level. We sincerely apologise for this, and our IT Department is working closely with our Inventory Management team to rectify this expediently.

We have since arranged for a refund of the additional KrisFlyer miles you incurred in making changes to your travel dates, amounting to 78,625 KrisFlyer miles.

Thank you for this opportunity to correspond and to be of service Mr Elite. We value your support and look forward to being of service to you again on your future flights with us.

Yours sincerely

That's why I fly SQ!

Love the story. Many great things in it demonstrate why SQ is so good.
-a personalised reply to your feedback. Not a generic response inviting you to take part in further online customer feedback !!!
-staff that will literally "bend over backwards to help you "
-award availability at standard price pretty much when you want it not 12 months in advance( other programs would consider this price normal and not their lowest fare!!)
-a frequent flyer program that knows when they have done the wrong thing and are happy to admit it

That's why I also fly SQ

Ditto to all the above...

However, can someone give me a generic email to reach customer service; as a complimentary note about my recent experiences on SQ F/R that I have sent to [email protected] twice has not been acknowledged let alone answered.
