SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

My experience earlier this year was no free Wifi in Economy when crediting to VA.
Yes

Currently:
KF members gets complimentary 2 hours free in Y and 3 hrs free in PE
In order to get complimentary access, need to have KF in booking. When inflight click on complimentary access via the wifi portal.

Those without KF in the BP and in Y and PE don't get complimentary access but access is enhanced with the payment of a fine via the inflight wifi portal. No KF number required AFAIK.

Likely SQ trying to increase KF membership with the free wifi carrot. Possibly *A precious gems and VF precious metals people may have to decide whether they want KF on the boarding pass or not as several other perks are potentially affected by the type of FF number on the BP

Those flying J and above need not worry as wifi is complimentary based on cabin

Would be nice if VA also had a FF agreement with GA, would be good for those who travel dom within IN.
VAi already flies short haul int from ADL to DPS.

Those wines are shocking for an F lounge :(

Agree but TBH if it’s not something spectacular, like the PH Rare I’m drinking now in TPR for example, I don’t see the point of consuming alcohol in lounges prior to boarding a flight that will have far better selection onboard. So even if SQ will improve the wines in their ex-SIN lounges they’ll never match the quality offered in TPR or in the air.

Well this is good news! It’s almost a year since I’ve seen Piper Rare available on one of my visits. Let’s see if it’s still available next week when I’m there…

Truth be told, those wines in SYD F are still leaps and bounds above what we’ve been getting in the Melbourne F lounge. Think Koonunga Hill…

It’s not on the menu but you can ask for it.

And even if the wine list in MEL will be upgraded it will probably match the one in SYD which is kinda like putting lipstick on a pig…

Yes Koonunga Hill gone from MEL F and Max rears it’s head

So tell us boomy after you’ve had 100 rides in new R and your better half finally forced you to include her how did she enjoy it?

I am in the newly reopened lounge at Incheon. It just started back up yesterday. It's a quite nice small lounge renovated before covid like Changi but shut done almost immediately. Food is okay.
Same can't be said of the wines. No champagne at all, white wines very average. I know it only services J but it is still a bit surprising.

I cannot remember seeing Champs in any J SKL anywhere except SIN - but as always fair chance I am wrong
Henriot / Taittinger NV in SIN J SKL in the past week, for those wondering what they have.
Looks like they may have changed from morning to evening.

First and hopefully last time ever flying SQ J.
