Just leaving this here. SQ definitely serves up the less herby Teochew variety.

BKT is one of the few dishes Singapore does better than Malaysia IMO. You get something much different if you go to Klang for instance. Dark, almost black, very fatty. Nothing like the peppery flavour in Singapore. Not to my liking.

We go to Founders on Balestier Rd as Mrs NoName’s family live close by. We’ll buy a few of the boxes of sachets to take home too. So easy to make.

For those ‘nay-sayers’ amongst the AFF throng who post that it is a waste of time sending feedback pls see here images of wines on offer and lunch menu in MEL F SKL 👍

This is reasonable progress on the wines...we're moving in the right direction. Still some work to do, but it does show they are listening, finally. Credit where credit is due. I'd like to see some movement on that food menu too...
Poor old boomy - he does get himself in a tangle when knee deep in Rare in TPR - he is conveniently forgetting that feedback to MEL Stn that saw Koonunga Hill replaced with Max’s - now if he was half way useful in any imaginable way rather that posting that here he would be sending it to MEL Stn and asking why does SYD have superior wine list and better food menu than MEL?

boomster pick your game up buddy 👍
I've been very pleased to see Piper Rare 07 back on the list in the last few weeks as I assumed it was gone forever. So good is it in fact that I felt like I'd taken a sharp downgrade when I was served Krug once onboard...
Feel free to ask MEL Stn Manager if this is actually the case - PEASANT will be talking to him no doubt next dep he might ask same 👍
That I shall do. I won't be back on SQ for a few weeks at least, but will no doubt have a chat to him when I do. Good fellow he is.

But still no progress re non- alc drinks🙁

Well the only way to resolve this is to do a few more SQ F flights out of SIN and compare with LBKT😀

Big fan of BKT. Think I’ve chose it for one of my flights this weekend as didn’t have it lately and trying to rotate between BTC dishes so it doesn’t get boring.

A bit off topic, a recent JAL F flight was good reminder that it is indeed possible to serve top restaurant quality meals in the air. Maybe one day SQ will do that as well… not that their meals are bad, far from it but they are not as premium as the rest of the product.
